Learn more about Tuskegee

Wandering through the Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site feels like stepping into a chapter of American courage often left out of textbooks. The George Washington Carver Museum showcases the brilliance of a man who found hundreds of uses for the humble peanut. At The Oaks, Booker T. Washington's preserved home stands as testament to educational perseverance. Tuskegee University's historic campus exudes scholarly dignity with its red-brick buildings and tree-lined paths. The Legacy Museum tells stories that need telling, while Tuskegee National Forest offers peaceful trails where history momentarily takes a backseat to nature. Each site here doesn't just preserve the past – it insists you understand why it matters.

The Tuskegee Airmen is the popular name of a group of African-American military pilots (fighter and bomber) who fought in World War II. Officially, they formed the 332nd Fighter Group and the 477th Bombardment Group of the United States Army Air Forces. I'm not sure if they give tours of this place or not. Nothing was open the day I was here.
