Bathroom was dated and had a huge shower curtain that covered half the bathtub and no hooks to hang anything in the bathroom. The passenger trains are fine, but the freight trains are the loudest thing on earth, and they pass right by the window, which you must have open, because there is no Air-conditioning. "Stayed here for one night, price was good and actually cheaper via Hotels.com than with the hotel directly.
The hotel is large and grand (typical of the brand) with a huge outdoor car park with no height restrictions.
Room was pleasant and clean but as is the case with all German Van Der Valk Hotels the standard room was no way near as nice as the more modern Dutch ones. Worth staying when rates are low but not when high. Be warned in summer rooms would be boiling as no AC.

"The location is great next to the Starlight Express Theatre which we were visiting. Unfortunately the bar was closed after we’d seen the show although we were able to use the fridge in the lobby. Breakfast was a buffet style and an excellent selection. The room was a good size although the decor was rather dated. Overall we had a good stay."
