Learn more about Kirriemuir

Kirriemuir is well-known for its attractions such as Loch Muick and Cairngorms National Park. This welcoming city has something for everyone including bars as well as sights like Camera Obscura and Loch of Kinnordy Nature Reserve. All are within a small-town setting.

The Airlie Monument was built in 1901 to commemorate David Ogilve, the 9th Earl of Airlie, who died at the Battle of Diamond Hill in South Africa. Its located between Glen Prosen and Glen Clova in Kirriemuir.

The walk starts through the forest and then opens up onto moorland which you can walk further for. Great walk, kind of steep at points but amazing for our dogs. If you can, go back to the start where you will of passed a stone memorial called 'Scott-Wilson memorial'. It's definitely worth a visit!
