"Hotel Gruener Sand was a very nice place, very clean room, courteous staff, helpful for someone like me that speaks very little German. Dinners were delicious in the little pub, and breakfast was also delicious. Very personalized care, and the only thing that I would recommend for the room(s)m, would be a little apartment size refrigerator. We had some juice drinks that needed refrigeration. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality"

"This hotel is very centrally located, just a 2-minute-walk to the pedestrian zone and main shopping area in Bielefeld as well as on to the main museum Kunsthalle and several churches from the 16th and 17th century. The hotel is almost adjacent to the city's music theater, close to great dining options and only a 20 minute walk (uphill) to the medieval fortress Sparrenburg which is absolutely worth a visit and offers great views over Bielefeld and its surroundings. "

"While I realize the property is still under restoration, it would have been best to put effort into getting the lift functional (I have mobility issues and stairs are a difficult task). Staff was amazing to non-German speaking guests. 😃"
