Great position in Stratford upon Avon. Clean quirky and comfortable room

Not what I expected from photos.

Bed was comfortable linen and towels clean. There was no hot water to shower but was sorted for next day. Tv did t work and no assistance given or option to change rooms even though we checked on line and hotel not full There is not parking on site, the picture of the beer garden is not accurate it was rather grubby. Internet access was good.

I had the best time. Loved the pub on the first floor. The staff were amazing.

Terrible place

Terrible mould on bathroom ceiling and smelt of stager water noisy as by courtyard should not be allowed to offer accommodation

I know it's a 500 year old inn, and that explains a lot of its quirks. But large amounts of black mold in every corner of the shower upon checking in isn't related to the building age. Some shower spray would help that. And there's WiFi, but we couldn't access it from inside our room for more than a few seconds at a time. I wouldn't stay again. At least it was pretty cheap.

Don’t

Photos on Hotels.com deceiving. We were not expecting deluxe accommodations but bathroom shower mold and mildew. Room was on ground level with a window on the street without security bars so I’d window was opened anyone could climb in. Being summer we needed ventilation as there was no AC. Fan provided was inadequate and filthy. This was more like a youth hostel than “luxury accommodation “ quoted on their sign.

The rooms are clean but very basic. Great budget option in Stratford, right in the center of the historic area.

The staff was super great. Understanding getting what I paid for, but the room left a lot to be desired in terms of cleanliness.

I will say that the staff were kind, the hot water worked, and the sheets & towels seemed clean, but the rest of the room/premises were filthy. The kitchen was never open, the carpet was thin & scratchy, and didn’t seem to have been replaced or cleaned since the 1970s, the toilet seat was crooked, and the stall shower in my room had a shocking amount of black mold. The pictures of the patio furniture were inaccurate. They had old wooden picnic benches with overflowing ashtrays. I don’t mind old or small, but this was unhygienic.

Fair price for a quick visit

We went to Strafford Upon Avon for a couple of days to explore around spending most of time outside. The room was very simple and but with some tea and coffee available. The heating went off in the evening but we called the reception and they turned it on again (the room was freezing). The hot water wasnt that hot and the shower was a bit difficult due the low temperatures. The tiles in the shower had some black spots but it was ok. The Hotel is walking distance to the high street and best places to visit. Easy checkin and checkout.

Central, nice pub

Was asked to check out at 10am Sunday with knock on the door. I later checked and it was advertised as 11am check out. Very convenient location. Nice Italian restaurant over the road. NCP parking was £12 for 24 hours within 5 min walk.

Good value for money

Good accommodation, clean, well-presented, suitable for solo visitor or couple. Very close to town centre which was good for me as I have no transport and some mobility difficulties so cannot walk far without a rest. Only thing to bear in mind is it is quite a tight staircase up to the room. I managed ok though even though I do have some mobility issues. Good value for money.

Good location, helpful staff!!

It was a fun, quaint place to stay with a great location close to the city center and sites. The family room was large and the bed was super comfy. It was very hot, and the room did not provide any fans. My husband mentioned it to the pub manager, and after the pub closed, he brought their large fan up to us to use. Thank you again so much!! Our granddaughter was with us so we didn't spend time in the pub, but it looked fun. The pub across the street had music which ended at 11:00. No problem, all part of staying in a pub in town! Nice place; we would recommend it to those wanting a pub experience.
Arlene, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Aesthetically very plain but spacious. Not enough electrical receptacles. The room is above a pub with windows opening to a street with a number of pubs so it is quite noisy until around midnight or so. Stairs to room are narrow and uneven so not good for anyone with mobility challenges. There are lots of restaurants within a minute's walk and Shakespeare's birthplace is just a few minutes walk also so a great location for sightseeing.
Matthew, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

This is the worst place we have stayed in a long time. Photos show a simple set-up, I wasn’t expecting luxury, but at the price we paid I was expecting somewhere we could get a decent nights sleep that was not gross. The beds were terrible, visibly uneven and worn down. Bathroom was filthy. Second floor with a beautiful window over the street, but no lock on it or mechanism to prevent it from opening all the way. In historic buildings, I understand there are some things that will be different. But I booked for two adults and two small kids so this is a major hazard to not even mention. Location is great, I’ll say that.
Jessica, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

We paid £76 for a twin bedded small room, not bad for central Stratford. Mainly clean, bit dusty though. Loo seat broken, could have alerted the owners to the problem but was only there for one night. Bit noisy up till elevenish, but it’s a pub so normal.Owners very busy, didn’t have time for niceties, , fair enough. Comfy beds and nice bed linen, gorgeous fluffy towels. Probably won’t stay again because I have bad knees and there is a steep staircase, not their fault. Tons of tea, coffe, milk and sugar, didn’t have to ask for any more.

The property is in the centre which is perfect to access the main streets. The staff were friendly when we arrived and helped us to our room offering help if needed. The room itself was not up to scratch and we were very disappointed. We booked a family room as it was all that was available. The advert said a queen bed and a double bed but when we entered the room it was a sofa bed which was really hard and two single beds pushed together. The towels were clean and the bedsheets were good too. The bathroom was not acceptable because the shower head was covered in mould and the taps for the shower too. The cubicle was full of mould and the water guards were mouldy too. The toilet roll holder was hanging off and the fan was covered in a thick layer of dust too. The room itself was very dusty and I kept my shoes on because the carpets didn't look clean either. The price was £104.50 which I don't believe was reflective of the quality we received in the room. When leaving we weren't asked how the room was or about our stay which made me feel like they are aware of these issues.
