Fabulous hotel

A truly lovely stay at the Torel Palace. A beautiful building, large, spacious rooms which were very clean and the service was faultless. Little touches like turndown service, we got champagne and delicious sweets on arrival and again on our last night. The breakfast was really good, a good selection of hot and cold dishes. I loved staying here! The staff was so friendly and helpful. They gave us restaurant recommendations, set up a Tuk Tuk tour of the city, and set up transportation and a visit to a wine tasting in Douro valley. The hotel was comfortable, clean, pretty, and nice. The spa was cute and I had a nice massage. The little library for meals was also great. We didn’t get to swim in the pool but it looked lovely. The location was central to many things but it was further up the hill and tucked away compared to the river side where it seemed was all the energy and crowds.

Very nice boutique hotel. We were upgraded to a lovely and very spacious room - nearly 5 m to the ceiling. Very unorthodox style with old and new together in an interesting mix. A large bathroom is constructed like a large mirror box in the middle of the room. You can literally walk all the way around it. The staff are extremely nice in a natural friendly way. The breakfast is very nice. The pool is not really made for swimming - around 3 x 10 m. All in all a excellent hotel which really can be recommended - althoug the toilet paper is not 5 star quality - bring your own if you are sensitive ;)
