I can’t talk enough of the spa and swimming pool access option of the hotel! You will not regret it! It’s just a great way to end our wonderful time at Lyon with some self-care in their amazing spa facility. It’s also super nicely managed and clean. Especially in love with their Grotto pool. Breakfast is also nice and just what we needed. Love the laundry room that allowed us to do some laundry for a family trip. Overall great especially if you want to just relax and enjoy a day at the pool and spa!

We stayed for 1 night while visiting friends in Lyon. We chose the hotel based on the fitness center only to find out that it was an additional 45 euros to use. That was ridiculous, and the room itself was a nice size but not worth what we paid.

I never checked in to Metropole, because what they don’t tell you is the pool is 50 Euros a person, per day. The pool is literally the only reason I chose this hotel. So, I left and ate a hefty cancellation the first night stay, even though they are clearly falsely advertising. Don’t come to this hotel unless you want to pay a small fortune to swim.

On paper it looks nice, but when we got there, it turns out that even though you pay €150 you have to pay €20 for breakfast (that is indicated in the description), but also €40-45 for the pool and gym spa (that is NOT indicated in the description). If they write in the description that the breakfast is an additional fee of €20, they should write that the gym and pool are an additional €40, anything less is dishonest. Apart from that internet was the worst of any hotel I've been to, keeps disconnecting, they blocked access to speediest.net so we could not show them it's bad. Bottom line, don't go there if you'd like internet and budget €60 or €70 more if you want the basics a hotel shod offer. One more thing. The pillows are uncomfortable.

La qualité se dégrade au fil du temps…

Chambre spacieuse mais vieillissante. Le lavabo est difficile à utiliser, le canapé-lit très inconfortable et la télécommande de la TV ne contenait même pas de piles… Lorsque nous avons demandé un service très simple à la réception, aucune recherche n’a été faite et la réponse a été un « non » catégorique. Le seul point positif reste le room service : la qualité est au rendez-vous et le personnel de ce service est vraiment agréable. Nous avons séjourné dans cet hôtel à de très nombreuses reprises, mais la qualité ne fait que se dégrader au fil du temps. Malheureusement, ce sera notre dernière visite.

Une honte de commercialiser ce type de chambre pour cet établissement qui se définit haut de gamme. Certes le personnel pense être dans un palace (ce qui manifestement les autorise à être autain....) et quelle déception une fois passée la porte de chambre. Fenêtre vétuste, mal insonorisée, une baignoire EN DELABREMENT, aucun créneau dispo pour le SPA ni de tarif préférentiel pour les clients de l'hôtel.....le tout pour plus de 150e la nuit !!!! Il semblerait que les clients Expedia bénéficient d un traitement dégradé....dans ce cas autant ne pas proposer de chambre sur cette plateforme !

Il y a une non conformité entre l’établissement et l’annonce proposée. L’état de la chambre, la salle de bain et de l’ensemble n’est pas à la hauteur des prestations exigés d’un 4 étoiles. Un ascenseur qui ne fonctionnait pas alors que nous étions au 5eme étage. C’était un week-end d’anniversaire pour les 40 ans de mon meilleur ami et nous avons été déçu. La manager nous a proposé de nous offrir les petits déjeuners en remboursant Expédia. Donc j’attends d’être dédommagé de la valeur de 2 petits déjeuners affiché par l’établissement.

Das "Gran Studio" ist geräumig und komfortabel. Aber die Nebenkosten sind exorbitant (z.B. Spa-Nutzung 45,- Euro/Tag). Mit Auto geeignet, ohne Auto mühsam - es gibt dort gar nichts, weder Restaurants noch Läden. Man muss zum einkaufen/Essen gehen entweder mit dem Bus ins Zentrum fahren oder zu Fuss 1,5 km sehr steil den Berg hoch.

Encore un très bon séjour au métropole qui est un établissement de qualité toujours très propre. Les chambres sont en revanche un petit peu vieillissante mais en tout cas on y dort très bien et les équipements sont de qualité

4 étoiles mais bof niveau personnel et organisatio

Un bel endroit gâché par un personnel au spa à la limite du correct, on se croirait au guichet de la secu!!! Indigne des lieux . Un spa avec des équipements en panne, très vaste mais surtout pour se reposer . Les équipements sont en fin de compte peu nombreux notamment en extérieur. Et une salle de petit déjeuner installé dans une salle trop petite qui fait plus penser à une cantine d’entreprise, alors qu’il y a une entrée vide et sans usage .. cela me laisse l’impression que l’hôtel n’est pas habitué à recevoir du monde alors que pourtant cela ne semblait être loin d’être complet .

Smart hotel but paying to use the pool is too much

Our family room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Parking was 11 euros to use the underground car park so we were happy to park for free in the open air car park over the road. We booked this hotel because of the amazing pool. Unfortunately, I hadn’t noticed the small print in the booking that the pool is part of the spa facilities and only accessible if you pay the spa day-rate of 45 Euros per adult and 22 Euros per child per day. Given we arrived at 4pm and only had a couple of hours before dinner and then an early start the next day, we couldn’t justify this expense. Our kids were hugely disappointed and it took the shine off our experience here. I also noticed a sign (and see from other reviews) that men and boys can’t wear swimming shorts with pockets in the pool. So my son and I would have had to buy new swim suits to be able to use it anyway. I’d recommend the hotel make this clearer on their listings. I would expect to pay for a spa, but not use of a pool.

Lovely, remote and terrible value

Lovely hotel, but terrible value for money. As many reviews say, no pool access included. And the fee for a swim is too high if you don’t want the full spa facilities. There are other hotels with pools for far less. Spa is decent if you buy. Hotel is split - we stayed next door in an apartment block which was fine, but felt like a different hotel. So overall, okay, but would never go back.

Great hotel with a brilliant spa

Just a one night stop over with spa access, what a treat. Nice big rooms, nice staff and the spa is an added experience. Would highly recommend this hotel. My only advice if your male and not used to the French customs you cannot wear swimming shorts with pockets in the pool / spa area. We had to buy some thin Nilon material swimming shorts what they sell onsite, we just went up 2 sizes so they looked like shorts and not skin tight (or you can wear speedos if you want)

Très bon séjour, Le SPA est superbe, Le restaurant est bien : là nourriture est très bonne, par contre il ne faut pas avoir un gros appétit. Notre chambre était au 6 ème étage avec la vue sur la Saône. Juste magnifique. Merci
