People working there are the best. They are friendly and always provide excellent service. Hotel is old and smelly though. It needs a new carpet, or a good clean up.

Excellent Hotel Stay for a Couple

Highly recommend staying here with its central location in the downtown and nearby hiking and adventure sites. The room is fine for a couple, but somewhat long and narrow. The AC cooled the room well and was not in the bedroom which kept the noise down. Bed was comfortable. Strangely the front desk staff had a pattern of being distant or grumpy, but not that important an issue. Overall, this was a perfect place to stay after a late night concert at Ironstone in Murphys.

2/10 Poor

This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed. Staff was nice. Room was awful. This is an old hotel. I’ve stayed in historic hotels before. Indotntbhjk

The staff was very friendly and the room was as clean as one could ask for an old hotel.

8/10 Very good

Nice property.
Bhaskar, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Property, which we were told was recently renovated, did not meet the same standards. we had a room with cracked tiles in the shower, holes in the wall where the towel racks had been removed and you had to lift the toilet seat to close the bathroom door. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Maybe my expectations were too much for a “historic” hotel in an old gold rush town.
susan, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The property is close to many good places to eat and shop. The staff was nice and helpful. The property was in nice condition too. The only two issues we had were noise and lack of hot water for showers. The noise was due to our room running alongside the road across from a bar. Otherwise it was a nice place.

everything had been very good except midnight some guests who had arrived after an evening of celebrating had been loud carrying on about their business -
Adrian, 2-night trip

The shower it goes really hot then suddenly go cold , no counter inside the bathroom to put all your belonging like toothbrush, make up kit and no hair dryer
Dennis, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The historic hotel used to be considered a fancy place to stay. But not so anymore. Although it was clean, it is in need of paint and repairs and new furniture and carpet . It just felt real run down. It's not the "go to" place I remember .
Theodore, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Online said that the pool was ready and it being a very hot weekend was the main reason we chose that place AFTER check in we were told that it was in fact not ready and was told that my room was nonrefundable and I had to argue to get refunded due to the amenities they said were available were in fact not.
Marian, 2-night trip

Unsatisfied

The room to enter needed an old key, you could hear the plumbing all night, the room u could barely fit in. The outside was so lod and didnt end til after maybe 3. No heat, shower you either froze or burned. The only thing decent was the beds. For 170 a night not worth it.
Leah, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

Black mold in the shower, chipped sink, holes in the tile. The place smells musty and the bed was hard.
April, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

We were moved from the inn to the hotel Lumberjack, which is really a motel. All the tvs were “broken”. There was duct tape holding the lamp together. We cleaned up spilled water with a towel and discovered the floors were HORRIFICALLY dirty. I’m very disappointed overall and will not return
Danielle, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Extremely noisy

Our room was comfortable and clean but it was super noisy the traffic on the street was horrible. Not much sleep due to this.
Amy, 1-night trip

DILIP, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Check in was so so - we were not told where to park or given a parking pass or any information about the property, or given any info on the pool or breakfast. We had to figure all this on our own. The bathroom floor was not cleaned properly and the shower was very very moldy.
1-night trip

6/10 Good

Pillows were dirty. Very noisy all night. Road noise but not the hotels fault.
Elizabeth, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

The room was small and cramped, difficult to set up pack n play and walk around it. Bathroom was very outdated and looked unclean. The shades are not black out and light pours in from the street all night, as well as sounds from cars and motorcycles. Walls are thin, we heard neighbors slamming drawers all night and children slamming doors/running down the hallways loudly while trying to sleep. The fridge in the room froze all our food, including baby’s milk. Overall just not a pleasant experience.
