10/10 Exceptional

Our tent was impeccably clean, spacious, and featured a wonderfully comfortable king-size bed with soft linens. The wood-burning stove kept us warm and cozy as the desert evenings cooled down. The provided USB battery packs for charging devices and lanterns were thoughtful touches that blended seamlessly into the glamping experience.

What a great property and a great experience - people were so nice there and the food was great. The tents were amazing. And the location is just beautiful. We loved it.

We stayed for one night and had the most wonderful stay. The site is beautiful and the private beach was great to go hunting for crabs. The food is beautiful and the s’mores kits are a great touch. The bed is super comfy and the tents are spacious. The team were in hand to help us get our stuff from the car to the tent. All of the team were incredibly helpful and friendly. So happy to give recommendations for walks near by.

6/10 Good

Staff was wonderful. Thought we would have a water view but didn’t. Food was expensive and limited. No where to swim and there were insects in the tent. No electricity except a small power battery packs and the fans were 3 inches so when it’s hot so are the tents. Chairs are very low which were hard to use. Shower hard to use it was either scalding or cold.

It was such a unique concept. We loved the setting next to the water, the peace and quiet and the fires and s’mores.

A beautiful setting near the water, brilliantly equipped tents, friendly, helpful staff, the opportunity to be alone in nature or to chat to people around the fire pit, and starlit nights from the comfort of a very spacious but cosy bed. Just perfect.

It was our first time staying with Under Canvas and the experience exceeded our expectation. The cleanness of the room and facilities were 10/10, and you will not have to compromise comfortability living in a tent. The camp daily activities created a sense of community and truly embraces the lifestyle in nature.

8/10 Very good

Beautiful property and tents. Great setup for a quiet relaxing weekend a little closer to nature with beautiful views. There is a small restaurant on site with decent food but very overpriced. The main lobby tent has a lot of amenities, including free unlimited s’mores to pair with the nightly fire pits lit outside. Great place to hang outside with a view of the water. My only complaint is that the prices make this less accessible. I’d love to come back and stay longer, but the price just isn’t worth it.

Scenic Glamping in Maine’s Natural Beauty

Under Canvas Acadia is a Glamping facility with proximity to Acadia National Park. The tents are comfortable roomy and well appointed. The staff is knowledgeable friendly and very well versed in local trails for hiking. The restaurant and bar in the Lodge are small but very well staffed with something for everyone. The Lodge is situated on a gorgeous inlet in Surry, Maine with water views, and a large grassy lawn with plenty of chairs for relaxing with a view. They had interesting programs and activities like yoga available, live music many nights and unlimited s’mores and fire pits for gathering and enjoying, It is a family friendly facility and very nice for all ages. You really are immersed in nature. A wonderful experience for active travelers!

Unique glamping experience. We were lucky enough to catch live entertainment in the main communal area that was a perfect way to end the day with a nice glass of wine. We loved the more secluded tents 44-49. Overall a very quiet camp… I felt guilty flushing my toilet for fear of waking my neighbors despite the fact they were at least 50 feet away. lol

6/10 Good

Good Accommodations/ Location Far from Activities

While our accommodations for glamping were good, the location to get into Acadia Park or to Bar Harbor were not ideal. Note, there is no shuttle service running from the camp so you will need a car. Better for families not really for adult/friend trips, Quiet hours are STRONGLY enforced .. cost was a lot for what we received. The food however on sight is very good, compliments to the chef.
victoria, 3-night trip

2/10 Poor

Ridiculous price for a tent in the woods with no electricity, no breakfast or other meal included, and horrid coffee. This is an enormous scam. My bad for falling for it.
Katherine, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

It was an awesome experience at a beautiful location. Staff was fantastic, food was really terrific (it was first class!) Live music, rocky beach to explore, a great time. 3 suggestions: kids tent should be in photos. While very cute, my kids are taller then me and it was small for them. Also, warm water from the sink was needed. It was in the 40s overnight and it was impossible to not have warm water to wash your hands or face or teeth in the morning. Finally, the wood stove was too small to heat the tent. Tending it every hour was not enough to make it warm, heck not warm, just not really cold.
2-night trip

4/10 Fair

This should not be considered lodging. It is a campground. They promote being eco-friendly but what this really means is there is no electricity. This is in no way clearly revealed in their online description. Very expensive for a campground with a mattress and a toilet. Was up all night. Feeding the small woodstove every hour in order to keep warm. So we had a mattress, but got absolutely no sleep. We were not informed about the cold water at the sink and pull chain for the shower until just before our arrival. Because the woodstove is clear on the other side of the tent taking a shower was a miserable experience. Then the question is how do you dry your hair… We had to get in our car and drive to the lodge where they have a couple bathrooms that are heated and have a power source . We did not prepare for camping. I absolutely would not have booked this trip if I knew there was not electricity. I’m pretty sure they’re aware of this fact, as they must have paid an amazing advertising executive who found just the right words to brag on being eco-friendly, but not saying there is no electricity.
