We had a large, modern, beautifully furnished room in this special hotel. It is very quiet and the park-like grounds are quite beautiful. We enjoyed drinks in the unique bar and appreciated the period details in the public spaces. Not a cold corporate feel like many chain hotels but rather a comfortable experience with many nice qualities.

Which one is the way in?

Wifi was very poor in the rooms. OK if you moved to the public rooms. On arrival there are three entrances, but no indication of which is the reception. The one with the ramp is locked so yu have to hau your luggage up steep steps. This is discrimination against disabled people and possibly a fire risk. You can ring for attention but not till you have climbed the steep steps.
Don't bother with the ramp. The door is locked.

THIS HOTEL IS TIRED WITH VERY OPPRESSIVE DECO. STAFF WERE VERY FEW AND FAR BETWEEN. OUR TOWELS WERE REMOVED ON DAY 1, ALTHOUGH WE HUNG THEM UP, AND WERE NOT REPLACED. WE HAD TO REQUEST MORE. BREAKFAST IS VERY POOR. SELF SERVICE OF ALL ITEMS EXCEPT TEA AND COFFEE. VERY BASIC

The long winding road

Arriving by train, we were told to catch the D4 or D5 bus south and walk two minutes. We waited 5 minutes and it didn't come so we walked the 20 minutes with our luggage. We didn't see a bus pass during our walk. The driveway to the hotel was a long winding path that took another 15 minutes to walk. We were exhausted by the time we arrived with our luggage in tow. Had i known the walk would be so long i would have opted for a taxi from the train station. The hotel room was clean but small. There was a nice view from the window which we had to open as there was no air conditioner. There was no fridge or even an ice bucket for drinks. We had to request ice from reception. There was no recycling bin to separate recycling from garbage. :( the tv was very small for the size of the room. Only 32 inch i would guess. We wanted to order dinner for delivery but reception said the phones are not for use outside the hotel and we must use our mobile phones. We did not have a European data plan so we could not order. We had to walk 30 minutes to get something. I'm happy that reception was able to book a taxi to the bus station for our early morning departure for the airport. This cost 10 euros. The 100X bus to the airport took 45 minutes.

The heating did not work in both rooms I reserved. Room 207 and room 205. They were extremely cold. I complained to the night porter to no avail. This is unacceptable. I paid a high price for my accommodation and would like comfort. I expect to receive fully refunded for both reservations.
