My wife and I rented a 1BRM apartment for the weekend. The first surprise when we got to the apartment was a free upgrade to a 2BRM apartment with water views. Without asking, this was a great gesture. The room was clean and comfortable. Closeness to The District Docklands SC and restaurants made this a great stay. The property is also located within the Free Tram Zone so getting around the Melbourne CBD was a breeze. Would I stay there again? In a heartbeat.

The property is in a good location with tram just in front. The apartment we stayed in had a beautiful living/kitchen area with lovely views. The rest of the apartment could do with a better clean, especially the shower. No matter what you pay, the property should be clean.

This room was very run down for its age, bathroom vanity basically falling apart, tile grout was very dirty. benchtops had not been cleaned down properly and as we booked through wotif they said due to this been a third party booking they hadnt complied with our request.

We were welcomed by Adi she was great, friendly and professional - vinaka Adi! We stayed at the Sebel apartments - our apartment had dining chairs past their best, the faux leather flaked off the chairs and went all over the floor; there was no vacuum so it got untidy looking by the end of our stay. We stayed under a week so we didn’t have housekeeping, which is why a vacuum should be available at the apartment. Great stay otherwise!

Accomodation

Booked for a family catch up but then found out we were in different buildings despite checking on booking that we were close. Had to change rooms half way through to enable to be closer. ( the staff were very understanding and helpful to facilitate this).Paid a lower upgrade fee of $100 but even though we moved to a 2 bedroom where we only used one the actual accomodation was disappointing after the initial 2 nights stay which was lovely. We were not permitted to view the room before the move due to it being occupied and probably would not have moved if we had. No air con in bedroom, older style furniture, worse views. I also believe that a key lock on the door access would be safer with children as it's just a catch lock that a child can open so when the grandkids visited during their stay I had to put barricades in front of the sliding door.

No communication from the hotel at any point really, even check in. Pretty much that’s your room and there’s the wifi info. No satellite tv like advertised, just normal tv. No access to the pool. No information even as to where the pool was. Hair dryer didn’t work at all. The Bedroom tv remote, when changing the channels, turned the lounge room tv on several times, through a closed door. Great location. But would’ve stayed somewhere else had I known more.

Bed bugs

There was only 1 thing that let the hotel and our stay down. There were bugs in the couch and we got eaten alive. We stayed 3 nights. After the 1st night we werent sure if it was bed bugs or the couch. But our next day was so busy we didnt get home till late and went straight to bed. We didnt get anymore bites. We also then worked out it was mostly on areas we either sat or was leaning on the couch. I would have complained straight away but there was really no point as we didjt have time to move all our stuff as we had things we needed to do on our short trip. Was so annoying not to be able to sit down on the couch to put shoes or or relax before bed.
