Hotel was good, ended up with free breakfast which was a nice surprise. Main hotel was very modern and looked nice. We stayed at the bendsmoor cottage. Only complaints where the HVAC made a noise constantly whether it was on or off and the carpet needs renewed.

Disappointing stay.

Bathroom floor and woodwork around the sink were needing replaced or repaired. Walls on bathroom were stained with condensate runs. The noise from fans and the adjacent M74 made sleeping difficult.

Room did not have a working TV - asked to switch and we were accommodated. Restaurant, although largely empty, was not available for dinner as kitchen resources were dedicated to a wedding function elsewhere on the property. Hotel staff did help us book dinner at a sister hotel. Some lights in our room did not work. Overall, we expected much better for the price charged.

Very tired hotel.

There was a mix up with the room when we arrived. We ended up walking in on a room that was already occupied. We got moved to another room but the key fobs didn’t work. We eventually got it sorted out. I’ve got to say apart from the embarrassment and slight annoyance the staff at the reception were very apologetic and gave us a round of free drinks for the trouble which was a very nice gesture. The outside of the building looks great but I thought the rooms were very tired looking and there were multiple stains on the carpet and the bathroom was very shabby. I thought it was very over priced for the experience.

Food took a while to come out when ordered, not a lot of bar staff on so had to wait to order and get drinks, bed was pretty hard and the pillows were flat - that could be down to personal preference. Humming/buzzing intermittently in the room that we thought was aircon but wasnt, mentioned this to front desk staff.

Stayed here for 1 night in a family room. The room was very big, plenty of space. Double bed was huge but it was actually 2 singles joined together which was great. There were bunk beds located in the room for kids. Only idsue was for some reason we could not get any sound from the tv in the kids area which was annoying as they had to watch the other tv in our bed. We went elsewhere for dinner but breakfast was amazing, great choice of food and kept being repelnsihed. If your stayimg in Gretna I would definitely consider this hotel, its a few £ more than others in the area but in my opinion its worth it
