Overnight Stay

Room warm and well prepared for my visit. Small but very comfortable room.

6/10 Good

Old, off grid, good for meditation.

It was nice, however the farm needs a lot of refurbishment. Also the local pathway that leads to farm was vey narrow and risky. While I was there I found one car fell off the this local pathway into the fields. Good place for meditation and contemplation- if you want to be off grid. There’s no phone signal but there’s Wifi. Breakfast was okayish, no dining area, you take your breafast in your room.

I didn’t stay to find out, i left the accommodation within 10 minutes. I wasn’t very amused.

Almost impossible to get to. Property isolated with nothing to do. Breakfast offered in your room with juice, milk and eggs in a frig and cereal in boxes.

10/10 Exceptional

Good property and clean throughout and beautiful scenery. Country roads are a bit awkward if you happen to meet another vehicle. The shower on the room upstairs could be improved by installing a water pump as pressure is so low and it was effectively dripping drops of water during showering.

2/10 Poor

Absolutely disgusted. I told them I would be arriving late and they said that I must be there by 11:00pm. I managed to get there at 10:50pm and left the party early as to arrive on time. No one around and I couldn’t make a call as there’s no phone signal. Ended up having to drive home 105 miles 3 hours getting home at 02:00am. Just phone to ask why no one answered the phone and he’s put the phone down on me. DONT STAY HERE!!!

6/10 Good

Quite remote but quiet.

Do not attempt to go there in a sports car. The track is a little rough, But the house and room are comfortable and I have to say the breakfast was super cereals tea coffee toast eggs if wanted and plenty of milk and juices.

2/10 Poor

Horrendous.

The photos on the web site are very different to how it looks when you arrive. The room is falling apart, the walls are paper thin I could hear everything in the next room and I mean EVERYTHING. The room is the smallest I have ever stayed in there is just no room at all. Outside our bedroom window was just disgusting and unkept. It was incredibly warm and the smell from below and the flies from the stagnant water meant we couldn’t have the window open to sleep. The fire escape looked like a death trap. The bathroom was clean enough however the window was boarded up from the outside I spent an hour trying to find other accommodation to move to but sadly there was nothing else available, so we had no choice. As I was competing the next day we slept and left as early as possible just to get away. I would not recommend this property. It's a real shame as the location is beautiful but the whole place is run down and dirty and needs some serious attention. We didn’t mention anything to the person checking us in a he showed us to our room and disappeared. He was incredibly polite and helpful and as he didn’t own the accommodation, I saw no point in dragging him over the coals. Had there been availability in another hotel nearby we would have moved IMMIDIATLEY!

Very quiet rural setting. Interesting to see lama's and water buffalo wandering around the car park. Peaceful place to stay. A bit off the beaten track but worth it.

Cute little cottage

Stayed for work but was welcomed by a charming location with a quiet night sleep and a nice layed out room with everything I need for breakfast set for me. Would stay again should I be visiting the area again

I cannot recommend

I booked a 2 night business trip at this property. I was pleased with the price and most of the reviews were positive. One of the reviews noted that the road leading to the property was dangerous. It is a little nerve wracking but not unusual for a farm track. A man answered the door and let me in. He told me my room number and told me to let him know if I needed anything. I worked late into the evening and didn't really pay much attention to the room until the following morning, when I decided to make myself some breakfast. On the wall next to the toaster, was a spider web, which contained a dead spider and a dead earwig. There were dead spiders and webs behind the bedside tables and down the side of the wardrobe. I packed my belongings and left that morning, booking an alternative hotel for my second night. I contacted Hotels.com, who were very helpful and contacted the owner, who rudely told them that butterflies and spiders were just a part of nature. He then put the phone down on them. These webs all had dead spiders in, that did not crawl into my room overnight. I have kindly asked for a refund for the second night and so far, they have had no response. I have stayed in many hotels and B & B's and have never had cause to complain. I have read a very rude response from this owner to a previous customer and suspect I may receive the same but was compelled to say something. These are not the standards that I would expect Hotels.com consider suitable.

I stayed in ‘the nook’. Everything was as expected, if not better. The owner supplied us with a breakfast for the morning that we could eat at our own leisure in the accommodation. There was ample room, with a little kitchen area and separate toilet/shower room. Beautiful location. Had a great stay overall.

The owner/contact on the site was very friendly and helpful, even when I had to ask him something at 10pm! The accommodation was quiet and comfortable. Everything I needed was there for me. A very good selection for breakfast ...the free-range egg was so tasty! The only drawback was the long distance from the main road, but, I would still go again. Thank you.

8/10 Very good

Rural but accessible; and comfortable stay.

Relaxing stay listening to bird song in early mornings. Room was very comfortable and spacious, as was the bathroom which was very clean. The room had everything for self catering (fridge, micro, toaster, egg poacher, kettle, utensils). Tea, coffee, bread, milk, orange juice, cereal all provided. You hardly saw the hosts but they were onsite. Access was good but cautious driving needed due to latter part of track being a bit uneven - very low cars may scrape on one or two areas. There are free roaming animals as its a farm, (which was lovely to see). Sheep with lambs and a donkey will sometimes greet you; the pig, who is penned securely, likes a back scratch through the fence too. I really enjoyed the location, rural but accessible. The only minor negative is that on an evening you could hear the tv below your room as it was a bit loud, but that comes with being in someone's home. Also the bedroom carpet had drink spillage stains on from other guests, but other than that, the room was pleasant. For those with limited mobility, there are a few deep steps up to the house; inside there are shallow, steep stairs to the bedrooms.
3-night trip

2/10 Poor

The road to the so called cottages is very dangerous and you run the risk of damaging your car and possible injury. The owner is very off hand and as for breakfast- you have to make it yourself in your room. I would not recommend this place! It is nothing like it is advertised. A total debacle!
