Only one night prior to flying, no breakfast but slept well and young guy checking us in was very pleasant.

Clean room, very commercial bedding.

Great 2 night stay, lovely room with a beautiful view. Ideal location for us as visiting family in Southbourne. Lovely food, I had the chicken and ham pie both nights, it was that good. Entertainment over the road at the Beach cafe both afternoons, which was a bonus in the fab weather we had. Definitely return

Great sea views from bedroom at a reasonable price. Comfortable beds.Taps not marked H. & C. Stairs needed cleaning. No comfortable lounge area only assorted pub chairs. Easy access to usual pub food all day but fried breakfast overcooked. Very helpful & friendly staff.

Great place to stay!

The hotel policy is to pay on arrival to save on checkout process which I had not expected but accepted. My room was good but I changed to one that had a bath instead of a shower and a larger tv. The bed was super clean and comfortable with crisp white cotton sheets and duvet. View over the sea was amazing. Fabulous full English breakfast cooked quickly to order. All the staff were very helpful and polite. Overall a very good experience.

The location of this property is outstanding. It is located across the road from the seashore and easy walking distance to shops and local transportation. The staff were friendly and welcoming and provided excellent service to us at meal times. One can get meals/snacks in the pub from 8 am to 9:30 pm. Drinks are served until 11 pm. The room was clean and maid service provided daily. There is an elevator lift to the second and third floor rooms. On the downside, the sink drainage was poor. The hot water boiler broke and had to be replaced resulting in 4 nights with no hot water and no heat from the radiators (November stay so fairly cool weather). Staff arranged for us to have hot showers on day 4 at a sister property just a few blocks away, provided us with a portable heating unit also on day 4. The manager gave us a free steak dinner in the pub on the first night the boiler died and deducted 1/2 off the price of our morning breakfasts (10 days).

Regrettably a poor choice of hotel.

Unfortunately, we had a poor experience. The first thing noticed was that part of the hotel name was missing from the front of the hotel which we realised was indicative of the overall thoughts whilst staying there. The lift had no lights when using it so you had to remember where the floor numbers were before you entered it. The food in the restaurant was not of good standard, the steak ordered was medium and arrived 'more' than well done, the chicken caesar salad had just four small pieces of chicken. The room was tidy but soap dispensers in the room and bathroom were empty. The toilet failed to flush on several occasions the switch for the bathroom extractor fan was out of reach for average height visitors as at 6'2'' it could barely be reached it over the bathroom door. A shame because the location of the hotel is very good and it had the potential for being a good stay. .

Amazing location, perfect for a night stay, a little compact if you want longer. Parking always going to be an issue especially on a sunny day. Staff very friendly but room was a little tired

Oh the dogs!!

Extremely friendly staff. Went above and beyond to get me a takeaway breakfast as I left for work before breakfast started. Friendly locals and other residents. Best part of my stay was seeing all the beautiful dogs allowed to stay.. Especially Jack. Such a gorgeous boy

Poor room conditions

Customer service is good. However, Room 7 where we stayed need some makeover. The carpets were very dirty. The wooden headboard was sort of discomforting, and the pillows need changing as the are uncomfortable to sleep on. Also, there should be more pillows than the two flat ones provide. The interior is generally old and could be improved on. Overall, we did not enjoy our stay.

Commodore

A lovely position, but a bit chaotic. There's no manager on site and the young staff struggle. It's clean, but a bit rundown.
