Nice and quiet hotel

Nice and quiet hotel in the Haymarket area. Busses and trams to the city center are very close by. The lady at the hotel gave us valuable information about sites to visit.

Great location. Great staff

We were given a larger room when Mrs Chan saw the size of our luggage. Very well appointed- even a bath. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was simple but very adequate with hot and cold options. Good quiet location close to trams and trains.

6/10 Good

Signage is non existent until you face the door. The debit machine would not take our card so we had to come up with $ 200 pounds for the balance of our room. Our card worked everywhere else before and after. Mrs. Chang was pleasant, weicoming and explained everything to us. Hard to find but worth it once through the door.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at this quaint Georgian Style guest house. The neighborhood was very safe and quiet just 1 block from the Tram and bus lines. Our guest room with 2 queen beds had everything we needed and was close to tbe dining room. We all enjoyed the full English Breakfast served daily. Wifi worked ok !

Jill, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

I absolutely loved the Grosvenor Gardens Hotel. The staff were amazingly helpful, and if we needed anything, they helped instantaneously. The breakfast was a traditional english breakfast, topped with different yoghurts cereals and fruits. The room itself was very cozy and very silent at night, though still fairly close to the center. If we were to return to Edinburgh, we would undoubtedly return to this amazing hotel.

Room is spacious and clean. Host is very friendly and helpful.Breakfast is included. I slept very well. No complaint. The property is very close to the Haymarket train station. So the location is very convenient if you arrive and leave Edinburgh by train.

Staff takes pride in property, excellent manners. Old but spotless.
Frans, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Spacious room, clean, very accommodating to requests and needs. Breakfast options were wonderful to have. Nice touch to have a “to go” breakfast picnic bagged and ready for us early on our departure day too. Our main contact there, Mrs Chan, is terrific. We would definitely recommend.
Nancy J, 5-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Mrs Chan was really helpful and friendly. My room was lovely and clean. I was leaving for an early flight and she offered to make me some sandwiches because I would miss breakfast. The airport bus was a 2 minute walk from the property and they are every 5 minutes. Got to see amazing Edinburgh the night before and had haggis, neeps and tatties, was lush :)
Nicola, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Good position in quiet area.

Nice old house in a quiet area close to Haymarket Station, but I find the price too high for the standard. Spacious room, but tiny bathroom with a “funny” hot water system. OK breakfast, but not luxuriuos. The asian staff was friendly, but were often overdoing the service, for example by thanking loudly when removing a used glass at the table, so it was hard for us to feel relaxed.
Dorte, 3-night trip

If I visit Haymarket again, no doubt I will choose

I like most of everything. The location of the hotel is close to the train station Haymarket. Only 2-minute walk is needed; The room is reasonably new and spacious. It comes with a 2-seater sofa. The mattress is comfortable and we would have deep sleep; Every dish of the breakfast is freshly made, unlike those cooling food in chained hotels. A tankless instant hot water heater has been installed in the bathroom. It will take some seconds to have water for shower. I recommend readers to take this hotel, if readers feel boring with chained hotels. If I visit Haymarket again, no doubt I will choose this hotel again.

Comfortable, convenient, traditional hotel

The hotel is conveniently situated by Haymarket railway station and tram stop: a 5 mins walk away. Clean and comfortable with traditional decor in a quiet residential area. The breakfast was excellent with attentive staff. Relatively expensive but peak time with the Fringe so was reasonable. There was a mix up with my single room booking but I was upgraded for two nights although that I meant I had to move. I prefer as a solo traveller not to share a breakfast table but with four tables in the breakfast room that isn't possible each time. The sign outside says Grosvenor House Guest House which is bit misleading. The Leith water way is nearby and handy for running. Nice cafes for coffee nearby, particularly Vietnam House on the main road. A good visit.
