I loved the fact that the wedding and reception was all in the same place and we didn't have to go outside in the rain at all. Staff were excellent, rooms very comfortable and we dined in the restaurant on Friday night when we arrived and food was good.

VERY pleasantly surprised by the standard of the food cooked in front of us by a very enthusiastic young chef. Had the chicken kebab which was superb, and then breakfast was freshly cooked. Eureka, NOT a buffet. Double espresso was quality coffee, and all kitchen staff were a breath of fresh air. BRAVO

The staff at Oaklands Hotel went above and beyond to ensure that our stay with parents in their 90's went smoothly. Even though it was a busy weekend, with four weddings, they made sure that we had a reserved parking spot, and couldn't be kinder at breakfast, bringing extra cushions to ensure that our parents were comfortable. Would totally recommend!

Possibly the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in and the rooms furniture is very dated. The shower head was covered in grime and some hairs were left on the side of the bath for the entire weekend. However, the staff are great and the food also great.

A mixed bag - good value if you get a cheap deal

The hotel is a mixed bag. The room was unloved, from random hairs in the bathroom to old and ineffective windows, to the picture above the bed that was on the wonk! However, the bed was comfy and the breakfast was good - a well cooked and generous breakfast and helpful and friendly waiting staff.

One of the best UK hotels we have stayed at.

We selected this hotel for its location within walking distance from Norwich centre (taxi back from the railway station); also near the river with views. pubs and activities. above all was the promise of a good food offer. In this latter , our expectations were far exceeded. The restaurants were spacious and well-decorated: outside areas were sheltered or covered and offered a nice ambience. The chef(s) will probably not be there for long since their level of creativity in many items of dinner and breakfast was so exceptional that they are bound to be snapped up for upscale, bigger restaurants somewhere. A lovely stay.

Nice room, big tv, however tv was on dressing table covering mirror. Only socket available for hairdryer was behind tv and cable not long enough to reach another mirror. Only one bath and hand towel for 2 adults. We stayed friday and Saturday night and there was a function on both nights and music went on till late.

Okay for sub £100 a night price point. A bit dated and tired around the edges but room clean, bathroom new and bed comfortable. No complementary water. I didn’t have breakfast. Shower cold on first day but that was fixed for the second day. Wouldn’t rush back but wouldn’t avoid.
