We spent 8 nights here with our two boys and it was the perfect place to stay. The houses are large and very well appointed with two large bathrooms, two large bedrooms, two decks and a spacious open-plan living area. We were lucky enough to sit on our balcony overlooking the ocean and see humpback whales migrating past on more than one occasion. Truly magical! Our boys swam in the pool each day and it was lovely and warm, even when the outside temperature was a little cool. There are boogie boards, beach chairs, tennis equipment - just about everything you could ever need to entertain children - available for use.
It's about a twenty to thirty minute walk to Peregian along the beach. We had not heard much about the village, only what we had read online and it was everything we imagined and more. There are numerous cafes, restaurants and lovely boutique shops. The place has a really laid back, friendly feel and we definitely preferred it to the bustle of Noosa. There is a great children's playground and skate ramp on the waterfront. There is also a new and very well-stocked IGA supermarket so there was no need to travel further afield for supplies.
We had an amazing time, our holiday was incredibly relaxing and Nora and Dan were very friendly hosts. We have no hesitation in recommending The Retreat to others and would definitely stay there again.
