Friendly hotel/inn

The room was clean, but did notice the bin in the bathroom hadn't been moved so behind not cleaned. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was brilliant and good quality foods used. I had a very good steak pie evening meal and bar staff friendly

I Recommend the Hunters Moon.

Friendly staff, good atmosphere in the pub and dining. Good food choice and drinks. Room comfortable, quality breakfast included, they also provided a packed lunch when I could not stay for breakfast.

A Little Gem In Dorset.

Conveniently located for touring Dorset with ready access to the countryside and coastal walking. Good selection of beers and ciders. Efficient staff and food options to suit all tastes. The option to have small prtions at dinner was very welcome and more hotels and pubs would do well to follow Dean's lead.

Pleasant Stay

The hotel/bar is set in a stunning location away from the hussle and bussle of other towns close by. Great food with great service.

Satisfied stay at Hunters Moon

We decided on Hunters Moon as we were visiting Tank Museum. Host made us welcome and over the course of our stay we had a good laugh and jokes. Food was good and fairly priced. Location was great for us and easy to find. Overall very satisfied

Great value stop ovet

Needed a stopover on the way to visit family. Great value & friendly. Rooms a bit dated but also authentic for a 18th century coaching inn. Fabulous breakfast, nothing too much trouble.

A Well Run Country Pub - that tries very hard!

Just a lovely country pub with a hard working landlord who gave a special welcome! You begin to realise just how much work is involved as an independent owner. His porridge was excellent!

2/10 Poor

The bathroom was scummy and dirty, they wouldn’t give me clean towels after being informed that If I leave in shower they would give fresh ones , if you need sleep early you will be kept awake , food was cooked earlier in week and heated up when ordered. Hash browns on breakfast were soggy, bacon looked although it would get up and walk off it was under cooked, the owner probably has no idea his staff are not cleaning rooms , the owner was very nice though
D, 4-night trip

2/10 Poor

I stay in hotels Monday to Friday week in week out, there was no water pressure so the water dribbled out of the shower head, the mattress was about 4 inches thick so you could feel the bed frame, I asked for sausage and toast for breakfast. The bread must of just passed over the toaster because it was far from toasted. This is one hotel I would not come back too
Ian, 2-night trip

4/10 Fair

So disappointed. Booked x2 rooms & quite honestly for £85 per room the cleanliness was disgusting & rooms beyond dated! Curtains off the hooks & didn’t close properly, pillows so flat & uncomfortable wasn’t worth bothering with, bed lumpy & not very comfortable, shower & surrounding doors/floors covered in black mold & grime, my friend even had empty shampoo bottles in hers that showed bathroom probably not even been cleaned. Towel rail rusty & covered in dust. Tap cover loose. No bath mat.Kettle had so much scale in it I had to clean it x3 times before making a cup of tea. Worryingly electric fuse board was last checked in 2016 as was the last PAT test on kettle stickers 2016. Carpets looked grimy & needed probably a good clean if not new ones! Furniture dated & decor dingy. On the plus the pub itself the evening meal was lovely & the pub is really nice & service friendly albeit in the morning we weren’t asked once how we found our stay or slept etc. Breakfast was lovely except the hash brown was not cooked & there was mold on one of the jams I opened. In fact all of the honey/jams were either near empty & didn’t look very appetising. The landlord & his staff are very friendly but lack of cleanliness, interest & attention to detail I would not stay there again. We did not bother to say anything, apart from not being asked, it would’ve taken them the whole day to clean that & we only stayed one night but had I booked for longer I would have gone elsewhere. Such a shame.

I stayed here as a solo traveler for work - the room was clean and had everything i needed. I was even given an extra heater as it had turned cold but i didnt need to use it, the room was warm enough. All staff were lovely and very welcoming. The bar serves lovely food and pricing is reasonable. Would stay again next time Im in the area.
