This is a fantastic place to stay. An Edwardian mansion on the hill overlooking Daylesford and easy walking to the main strip. We stayed in the Zebra room with everything you need including real milk and real ground coffee, and an open fire. Great value and we would definitely stay here again.

Love our stay, highly recommended

Love our stay! The building itself is a beautiful historic architecture. We stayed in the Zebra room, the view was stunning overseeing the whole town. Breeze coming in from window was really nice. Fireplace and deep bathtub are also highlights of our stay. The host provided generous breakfast bits and small snacks for us in the room, it was very sweet of them! Also love the contactless check in and out, plenty of privacy for couple, We will definitely come back.

We loved our stay there. Only difficulty way climbing in and out of the bath. No walk in shower. We are in our 70s. Otherwise perfect
Ann, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

Convenient Upstairs room so hard even with overnight bags No shower . Deep bath & high so didn’t use Only people staying
Rob, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Quirky but not right for us,

We appreciated the generosity of our host & the quirky historical aspect of the building. However as an older couple, we found many factors difficult. Because we had suitcases (travelling for 3 weeks) space was a real challenge, not to mention getting the cases up the steep stairs. I’d imagined there’d be someone to assist & that we’d meet our host. The bath is definitely not for us. We decided we’re the wrong demographic to stay here.

4/10 Fair

Extremely poor cleanliness ruined experience. Whomever made the bed must have been eating something as they did it as there were crumbs on the sheets near the pillows. No staff were present so had no one to raise issue with to get clean sheets so had to just try brush the crumbs off the sheets. Floor wasn't clean- there was a nut on the floor probably from the same source as the crumbs on bed. Some sort of sticky gum or lollie was stuck to the floor near the kitchenette. Shelf under mirror wasn't clean- had a clear mark from a water glass. The only important thing to expect from accommodation is for it to be clean.

Lovely stay

It was a beautiful old building very old fashioned with claw bath which was ok except for the hand shower over the bath very hard to handle so water went everywhere, that was the only downside. The view of the town was lovely. Breakfast ordinary but appreciated the wine and chocolate

Beautiful building - stunning room

Beautiful building - stunning room. My room was spacious, well appointed and breakfast supplies were generous. It was a simple process for access and my stay was peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely go again - my room had a fabulous view of Daylesford sunsets.
