Cheapest I could find at short notice, rooms are a little tired and could do with better mattresses but all in all not a bad place to stay. Staff are friendly and welcoming

The building has classic charm and history, and is in a quiet setting. The rooms are badly in need of professional renovation and improvement, and the housekeeping needs to be stepped up. Felt like we were visiting a rather rustic summer cabin. Friendly staff.
Rob, 2-night trip

Hotel accommodated my late check-in request. Bed was very uncomfortable, with mattress springs being felt all over. Hair dryer smoked and made bad noise...
Qaiser, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Booked this the day before attending a course in Dundee due to bad weather. Really handy location just a few minutes off the A90 and 15 minutes from Dundee. Building is quite old but rooms are comfortable and for a last minute, low cost booking a good find.

Get what you pay for...

The welcome was great. The food there was good. The room was OK, but it wasn't clean, lights didn't work, there was no daily service, the towels were thin, shower needed repair, mould ...yeah, not really great.
Carmel, 2-night trip

Room smelled like urine. Toilet very hard to flush. Room was dirty.
Jon, 1-night trip

Birthday night away

Food was terrific and staff friendly. Unfortunately, there was a few issues with the room. The shower was in very poor condition, so couldn't get proper wash and the bathroom door if closed from the inside could only opened from outside. Partner was stuck in bathroom for 2hrs during the night. Staff found this funny when I mentioned it. Not the reaction you'd expect. Wouldn't stay again
MARK, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

I used this simply as a place to sleep as I was visiting my son in Dundee. The staff were very friendly. The part of the building I was in is very tired. My bedroom was functional - everything worked and there was lots of hot water. But the bedside table door was hanging off, the bathroom floor was in poor repair and the bath had a crack along the edge. The arrangements for getting access were a bit restrictive and caught me out (not only could i not check in prior to 4pm - which was on the information, but I had hoped to sinply drop my stiff off early at atound 2pm - but the building was fully locked up and I could not fibd a way to contact anyone. However, ir did what I needed it to do and as I said the staff were very friendly.
