The hotel is in a perfect location along the river and directly across from the main entrance to the old city. Everything is walkable from the hotel. The rooftop bar/restaurant is very nice.

Would stay again. Parking is up a hill and 1/2 mile away but this is a very old city and we were willing to overlook this.

We were on the salzrach river across from old town Salzburg. The hotel was luxurious, the staff professional and helpful, and the room was quiet and spacious. We were never farther than a 10-15 minute walk from the places we wanted to go.

We had a great stay at Hotel Stein. During checking they wished me a Happy Birthday and upon our arrival back after walking around the city for a bit a bottle of Prosecco was left in our room and a lovely card. Thank you for a great experience.

The property is beautiful and perfectly located, all the staff we encountered were absolutely amazing. The city view from the rooftop restaurant was very nice. Our only, only wish is that while at the rooftop restaurant had a slightly larger selection of dining options as it would have certainly would have given us a bit of encouragement have a few additional items, drinks and just stay and enjoy atmosphere a bit longer.

the parking situation with a far, far away public lot is very poor. room is smallish - certainly for the high price. staff was polite - not necessarily friendly. the value for money is horrendously poor. worst value in my 40 years of travel
