Great hotel in a lovely area

This was a great hotel in a lovely area in Bologna. The room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. It was on a busy street but you couldn't hear any noise. They provided a continental breakfast in the room which was plentiful. As a vegan, I couldn't eat much of it but my partner enjoyed it. I will definitely stay here again when I come to Bologna.

We loved Steam House. The room had real character and the location was great. There were 2 adults and 2 children and, even with 2 single beds and a queen size bed, plus our luggage, the room felt spacious and was well equipped. The breakfast provided was generous and certainly filled us up before we started the day. Steam House represented very good value for money and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a place to stay in Bologna.

Cosy place within walking distance from old town

A very clean and nice place with breakfast in the rooms. Nice "mini" apartment with lots in the near surroundings. Only drawback was the superbusy bar just underneath which creates some noise in the evenings (but also very good for drinks)...

Brilliant place to stay

We were delighted with our room at the Steam House. Our prior emails concerning a change of arrival time were quickly answered. We had a very nice welcome from Valentina who was also helpful with info on restaurants and where to buy an adapter plug that we had forgotten. It was good to be able to eat breakfast in our room at what ever time suited and the choice of food provided was excellent. It is in a great place for exploring the city with sights, restaurants and bars on the doorstep. We would certainly stay here again.

This little property was so cute but a little tricky to find. At first glance it appeared to be on a street with few options for dining etc but after exploring, we realized that there were lots of great dining options a couple of blocks away. Our host was so kind and helpful in booking us a taxi for our return to the train station. It was quick but fun visit.

Best place I stayed in Italy.

Amazing living room and bedroom. Loved the breakfast station that came with a variety of snacks and a mini fridge with complementary yogurt, water, juice and even a meat/cheese board. Impressed with the milk frother for making cappuccinos. I liked the location. It was convenient to walk to attractions and there were a couple cool bars right next to the hotel. I liked that there was night life so close to the hotel so I could easily get to my room afterwards, the crowd of people made it feel safe at night, and I could not hear any noise once inside the room. Price for the room was great

Don’t judge this book by it’s cover! Behind a lively student pub that there is hidden a historic building with wonderful, clean and quiet tourist apartments. Owner and operated by young women entrepreneurs, Valentina and Erica provide a comfortable and well appointed traveler experience at a moderate price. The complementary breakfast of yogurt, cereal, cheese, etc. and coffee is provided in the room in a well stocked pantry. Check in, checkout and luggage storage are a breeze but you will need to phone them for building access as there is no “front desk.”

One night in Bologna

Super find, beautiful large room recently modernised with ornate ceiling. The proprietor has paid so much attention to detail from the decor to the breakfast bar left in your room for the morning. Lovely selection of cold meat, cheese, granola & biscuit bars & yogurts & juices. Even UHF milk to use with the Nespresso frother or with cereal. Great neighbourhood location right in the heart of a heaving student population with many packed bars & restaurants. The windows are sound proof & AC mean a quiet nights sleep is guaranteed. Couldn’t recommend this place more. Excellent!

Fantastic place even better value for money

Steam House is an unassuming bed and breakfast with impeccable hospitality. It sometimes feels like a private room in an AirBnb, which isn’t a bad thing, but it can be too intimate for some. The room and private bathroom is incredibly clean and stylised to perfection. Every detail was considered. From the slippers, to the towels, to the lampshade. Breakfast in the room was a nice touch and gave us snacks to use in the day. The hosts were kind and hospitable. They went above and beyond. The location was great for being between the train station and the centre, highly recommend. The price was fantastic all things considered. We would come back again.

Communication was sketchy before arrival - received the door codes but then no instructions on where to go once inside the building, further information is definitely needed - other vendors sent a video. We called the contact number several times before eventually getting an answer. That said, once inside & settled, the room was great & breakfast was a nice treat. Very clean & comfortable.

I admit, we did miss the property as we walked past, it is an old building and has one half of a floor. The entrance is extremely secure, many doors and with local bars around you are always safe, many eyes, lol. Saying that the rooms have triple glazing, so you hear no noise from the street. Valentina the manager / owner is super friendly and very helpful, with local advice and help with booking a taxi to the airport. We had the Verne room, very nice, clean and huge, there was a second small foldaway bed (which was super comfortable) so imagine without. The bathroom is great with my favourite shower, waterfall. Breakfast is provided in the room with lots to offer, most is snack food, but the choice is varied including mat, cheese and bread. I did really enjoy the room, service and ambience.
