Beautiful, yet way too short

We stayed only one night and could not use all the great amenities. Dinner at the hotel was great. The room was spacious, clean, and very nicely designed. The hotel had a technical issue which could not be fixed during our stay and affected all rooms. The management however compensated us in a great and interesting way which was an amazing way to apologize for the inconvenience. Will we come back? Definitely! We still need to ise the spa, the pool, the gym, and many more amenities.

Spacious and comfortable

Beautiful room, super comfortable and plenty of space. Only small downfall was a constant drip outside that kept us awake in the night. It would have been perfect if it wasn’t raining.

Would not recommend

Bad experience would not recommend. TV did not work in room and management was not helpful.

8/10 Very good

Very unique style throughout the property.Comfortable bed althought the pillows were not so comfortable.Staff were mostly very friendly and helpful. We had a misunderstanding with the bar staff around RSA that could have been explained in a different manner.Pool and sauna was a nice touch but did lack cleaning due to staffing shortages.Overall, I enjoyed my stay but be prepared dining in So/ is more expensive.
Shannyn, 7-night trip

8/10 Very good

Room was styled nicely. The plug in the bath was broken and didn’t retain any water. I had to make multiple calls to room service for extra mugs that took roughly 1.5hrs to arrive. Dusty bed head in places. Nice blockout curtains creating a good dark room to sleep in. Comfortable bed. The car valet guy was friendly and helped with our bags.
David, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

SO Disappointing.

Great location, very cool hotel, and some thoughtful touches like complimentary mini-bar. BUT: curtains closed leaving large gaps, so room was light, not double glazed so lots of road/people noise (2nd floor room), toilet had a sliding door that was shared with the shower, so you could only use one at a time, and the door didn't close fully so no privacy. We had a balcony, which could have been nice, but it was very sad, only had one chair, some dead plants, and nothing really dividing our balcony from the next room.
Dominic, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Unique decor, which was a plus. Loved the large chandelier in the foyer. Comfortable bed and good shower. Very friendly and helpful staff. I didn't give it the full rating, as I couldn't adjust the heating and I was chilly. Fortunately there was a thick towelling robe, as I needed it to stay warm. I turned the heating up to 28C (normally too hot), but the temperature never went above 19C. I have a thermometer. A staff member also was never able to adjust the heating either. Besides that a nice hotel. The desk could do with a power point multiboard to make it easier to access a place to plug in the laptop.
Julie, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

I think Expedia reservations give you the worst room. We were 2nd floor easily visible from the street so shades were pulled the entire time. Loud music from close by club kept banging until 3am. Front desk wouldn't call police. You could even hear the beeping of the crosswalk alert. Ridiculous. AND it was expensive. Do not even think of staying at this place, unless of course you want to go to the night club until 3 am.
Eric, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Stayed at SO/ twice - both for work as it's close to my office. Overall, their services were satisfactory, however I found them to be quite inconsistent. The first time I stayed there I had booked a "City View Room", but they put me on an accessible room on level 2, looking directly at the carpark. It was dark and unpleasant with no bathtub. After complaining to the front desk, they moved me to a better room on level 14 the next day. On my second stay, they had completely forgotten to service my room one night - by the time I got back it was too late for it to be serviced. I found the quality of the fit-out quite poor and inconvenient - the basin leaks at the bottom, shower head doesn't stay in the holder, power plug is placed inside the drawer. It's a great location to be in, but I expected better service and quality of fit-out for a 5-star hotel.
Ellen, 4-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

High quality at a great price

Easily the best experience we've had in a hotel. The ataff were amazing, our room was continually being cleaned and serviced, even twice a day (we came back one night to the bed remade and chocolates on the pillows). Outstanding quality of room, fascilities and extras in the bathroom. Highly recommend staying here!
Michael, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Very nice location in CBD

The hotel itself is very modern. While you may wait for your room go to the pool, sauna and hot tub or the gym downstairs. One odd thing, no house phone to call front desk anywhere on the level. Very nice room, bed was solid and location is good. Rooftop bar overlooking harbor on 16. One pro tip, go to dinner by 8, things close early in this neighborhood.
Brant, 3-night trip

Lovely hotel downtown Auckland. Easy access to everything. Walking distance from main attractions. Great food and service
