Really beautiful hotel in the city center close to the river. I would have prefered a view on the river. A bit of strong smell from the toilet but nothing so dramatic. Staff very friendly and polite.

Scandi gothic

The hotel was built in 1927 and the decor has not been changed since. It was clean and the linens were fresh and new. However the furniture in our bedroom looked as if it belonged in a £99 per night b&b. The bathroom had nowhere to rest wash bags, the walk in shower was fine but I have not seen an over the loo cistern with a pull chain in a very long time. The extraordinary dining hall, where breakfast was served was like walking in to a massive scandi gothic film set. Not for the faint hearted.

Hotelli ei sovellu pienten lasten kanssa yöpyville. Lapsia ei ole huomioitu missään, vaunuilla on mahdoton kulkea (erillinen ovi vaunuille ja pyörätuolilla kulkeville, joka on kuitenkin lukossa, eli pitää soittaa respaan tai jättää vaunut ulos ja pyytää heitä tulemaan avaamaan. Miten olisi ovikello?). Hissi on pieni, samoin huoneet. Meillä oli perhehuone, mutta lisävuodetta ei oltu tehty eikä vauvansänkyä tuotu. Soitin vastaanottoon ja he tulivat tuomaan pinnasängyn ja tekemään vanhemmalle lapselle lisävuoteen ollessamme kylvyssä. Vastaanotossa erittäin epäystävällisiä nuoria naisia, jotka eivät sovi asiakaspalvelutyöhön, eivät myöskään huomioineet lapsia mitenkään. Palvelun heikko taso on harmillista, koska itsessään hotellirakennus on upea! Suosittelen, että tänne tulee syömään Bistro Tammeriin tai vaihtoehtoisesti aamiaiselle, mutta yöpymään ei kannata. Lisäksi huoneeseen kantautuu kaikki liikenteen ja hätäajoneuvojen äänet, mitkä herättivät meillä vauvan useasti yön aikana.

Charmikas vanha hotelli, mikä oli kunnostettu vanhaa kunnioittaen. Vahva suositus, jos haluaa persoonallisen hotellikokemuksen. Hotelli oli myös todella siisti ja huoneet huolellisesti siivottu. Jopa juomalasit oli kiillotettu. Huone ja kylpyhuone eivät ehkä olleet niin tilavia, kuin uudemmissa hotelleissa, mutta rustiikkinen tunnelma korvasi tämän.

Tämän tason ja hintaluokan hotellissa pitäisi olla sellainen ilmastointi, jota voi itse säätää. Kesä helteillä todella kuuma, pöytätuuletin ei riittänyt. Parkkipaikkoja ihan vain muutama, joten jäimme ilman ja piti jättää auto yleiseen parkkihalliin kauemmas, joka oli myös paljon kalliimpi.

Henkilökunta kertoi, että vain osassa Superior huoneista on parveke tai sauna joten niitä olisi pitänyt toivoa etukäteen, joka tuli hieman yllätyksenä.

I stayed in July. It was 27-30 degrees outside. The hotel had no air-conditioning. Only one of the windows in the room opened a small bit. The other window was locked. The feeble fan in the room did little to overcome the stiffling heat in the room. It was impossible to sleep due to the unmanageable heat. Such lack of ventilation is a health risk factor especially for older people. The bathroom is so narrow you have to sit sideways in the toilet. This hotel trades on its old world charm. But it is dark, stuffy and unwelcoming and in need of repair especially the windows. There are steps up to the entrance and no ramp.
