It was convenient to rail terminal and staff was very friendly. Low rating is due to wi-fi only working couple hours and sheets had stains.

Having stayed at this hotel numerous times I was disappointed that we were given a room in an inferior nearby property, and we were not aware of the renovations that were taking place. After showing our displeasure we were given a room for the rest of our stay in the hotel we had booked, so everything was ok .

The hotel was clean but old and could use some upgrades. The sheets were very clean but the mattress was uncomfortable. The breakfast was pretty good. AC worked so/so. The shower is too small. Cleanliness was good.

The hotel is very old and very tired, it is in good location and ok just for a base. We had to change rooms as the shower had no holder you would have had to hold the shower! This was our third stay and is convenient but condition of rooms not great

Ray Hotel

Absolutely disgusting excuse for a hotel. Wouldn’t even let a Rat stay here. Complete room was filthy, stench of damp, mould everywhere, curtains ripped and didn’t close, waited 5 minutes to even check in as the receptionist was too busy trying to decide between KFC or Burger King for her dinner. Checked in and out within 15 minutes. The place should be closed down.

Location is very close to the railway station and other public transport. Wifi is not available in the room and is only available near the reception area. They shouldn’t be providing wrong information for the services they don’t provide. Toilet tissue was missing and heater was not working properly and can be a concern during winter. Breakfast was good.

At first we had a room in second floor, but the ceiling in front of the room door was fallen, so we asked for a new room, they gave us a room in third floor which was the worst room ever in any hotel in any country I have been so far. The room was small, the table the chair, windows, airconditioner, all was in a terrible state. I suggest any one who want to rent a room in this hotel to think again, the price is cheap in that area, but it is better to pay a bit more and have a good time. The breakfast was good.

We had to move out after one night because there was no working air conditioning and we had bug bites all over due to leaving the windows open. The rooms smelt heavily of mold, mildew, or perfumes, which may have attracted all the bugs. We initially thought it might be bed bugs. Still don’t know if it might be. This hotel is similar to a camping ground than a hotel in Venice. Very disappointed. Wish I could get my money back for the night we didn’t stay there.

Stay away

Don’t go to this hotel!! -When we arrived the ladies at the reception were doing each other fingers and having an argument as we were checking in!!! -The room itself is old and damaged. -The air conditioning does not work -We asked for a double bed we got 2 single beds. -‘The view’ is nice but you can’t enjoy it because you are in the street as soon as you open the window everyone can see you -The breakfast was mediocre (bread, some spreads, cakes and the most disgusting juice I have ever drank) -The worst part is the noise you cannot sleep, you can hear everything at night from the street and in the morning you can hear everyone checking out and eating their breakfast. Not worth the price stay away.

Cheap and cheerful

One night stay due to delayed flight. Went for a cheap a cheerful hotel and that’s exactly what we got. This hotel has a 5* position on the canal but leads a lot of investment. It is very rundown, and the owners just need to cherish it. Perfect position from the train and bus station after a long day it was nice to get to the hotel. The reception was straightforward but not over friendly. Second floor room, no elevator and two steep flights of stairs. A/C working in the room. Canal view but curtains didn’t close. Bathroom mouldy, shower not working, no plug in the sink and flush mechanism falling off the wall. One out of two showers not working. Bed ok and got good sleep. Breakfast simple and chaotic with self help. Checkout easy and they kept bags until we went to the airport. If you want a cheap and cheerful hotel then this is ok but I wouldn’t go back voluntarily
