I recently stayed at The Tess Autograph Collection and had a mixed experience. I booked through Hotels.com, where my confirmation clearly showed a 3 PM check-in time. However, upon arrival, I was told check-in wasn’t until 4 PM—and even then, my room wasn’t ready until 5 PM. That was definitely disappointing, especially after a long day of travel.
I also reserved a room with a city view, but the room I received was on the 2nd floor overlooking the hotel’s roof and mechanical HVAC units, which was not the view I expected or paid for.
Aside from those issues, the room itself was clean, stylish, and exactly as pictured online. Once we were settled in, the stay overall was pleasant and comfortable.
The Tess has great potential, but the check-in process and room assignment could use improvement. If those areas were fixed, it would easily be a top-tier experience.
