10/10 Exceptional

From arrival to departure our stay at the Mercure was great. The lady at reception was a delight and made us feel welcome. We were upgraded to the superior king room which had a great view of the city. The room was very quiet. The bed comfortable. We really loved the bathroom with a beautiful walk in shower. The only down side was the pool as it was supposed to be 31 degrees but it was no where near that temperature. Very cold to the point where we couldn’t swim without freezing. Probably good in summer but not winter.

Conference stay

Convenient as I was attending a work conference at the hotel. I did not get the car parking discount given to conference day only attendees, which was disappointing. Also breakfast expensive for what it was. Pleasant staff.

Relaxing -

We had a pleasant greeting on arrival and were provided with a delicious gift for my daughter when the Manager on duty became aware that it was my daughter's birthday. It was such a lovely gesture and great beginning to our little staycation.
Tania, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The receiption guy was so friendly and helpful
Nomin, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

The manager was extremely rude
Bryan, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The hotel facilities and rooms were good. We were a family group with 3 rooms. The hotel appeared seriously understaffed - a 15 minute wait to check in, a 25 minute wait for bar service, a combined total of an hour and a half between arriving at the restaurant and receiving our meals. Shambolic is the word which comes to mind. When I checked out, the morning manager joked that the charge was $2000 in front of my elderly mother, who did not realise he was joking and was quite upset. Perhaps some training around appropriate behaviour for people of all abilities would help, if they can spare the time.
Emily, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

This was the first hotel ever in my entire history of travelling, where I have been unable to unplug the fridge in my daily mission to remove any unnecessary sound or lightning from the room, due to my sensitivity. It would have taken a high torque angled screwdriver, or an electric long-nose to undo that sucker. The rear of the unit was tucked in so neatly, it was unable to be reached from the front, with a neat little door strap. I checked for the obvious temperature dial inside, and any other way - however, this was not meant to be. This model was far too advanced for that. I left both defeated and impressed at the same time.
Mr Ashley, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

The staff did their best but they gave away our accessibility room with two beds. I paid $224 to sleep on a rock hard rollaway that hurt my back. The 2nd night my 85 yo mum couldn't shower because we had to move to have an ordinary two bed room that was tiny with no access for her walker. You'd think they would have discounted the rate for their mistake but the best I got was a refund on the 3rd night which I cancelled. My mum wasn't happy and very pleased we left early. The small rooms made her feel unsafe with tripping hazards without her walker. The staff had to bring a chair for her to sit on or she had to sit on the bed! It is NOT elderly friendly at all yet the staff were kind but very limited in what they could do. Not impressed really. Not sure if we can come back next year.
Lesley, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

Room not ready when told it would be, no concierge available for bags, room service menu not suitable for allergies and intolerances
