Brilliant place to stay with hosts Jackie & Steve providing a base to literally be right in the centre of Christchurch… the tram stops right out side The Classic Vilas. Large rooms and a well equipped bathroom. Dining for the large continental breakfast was in very pleasant surroundings and proper tea and coffee available all day and night. Crucially the bonus is that a bottle of port is out in the evening for when you come in. Extremely pleased we chose this place and would recommend a couple of day s stay

Had a wonderful one nights stay at the Classic Villa. Upon arrival, our hosts told us that we were upgraded and ended up staying in one of the nicest rooms we ever seen. Very charming and warm as a proper B&B should feel. Even though the breakfast time was from 7:30 am, the hosts were up and ready before 7 to accommodate a group of guests that were leaving earlier. There was access to coffee and treats during the day. The Villa is centrally located and most attraction points in the city are within walking distance. We will definitively stay at the Villa again when visiting Christchurch.

Classic comfort

We stayed at one of the classic rooms which is located on the ground floor. The managers try very hard to make the stay pleasant. Rooms are clean and comfortable and serviced daily. Location is excellent, very close to all places of interest with a walking distance. The verandah is great to sit outside on a sunny day. On the negative, there is no mini fridge or coffee making facility, only available thru the breakfast room.Water took a very long time to heat up. There is limited parking available, and we had to park two blocks away for a free space. Included breakfast had great variety of condiments, but no hot food served, eg eggs. Overall it was a pleasant stay, but with the amount of money there are more comfortable modern hotels around.

This was a comfortable place to stay with pleasant older style character run by friendly and helpful people. It would have been good to have contact a bit earlier about how to check in but that may have been at least partly my fault in that I only made contact the day before I arrived. It was clean, comfortable and secure. There was some street noise but that is to be expected in a central location. The shower in my room made a screeching noise and seemed to take a long time for the water to heat up and I gave up on it. It was quite expensive for a room in a shared house, albeit a pleasant and convenient one.
