Our stay at Hotel Ambasador was overall just OK. Upon arrival, we used the hotel’s parking (€26/day). A friendly staff member parked our car, which seemed professional—until I later found the car unlocked after four days.
At check-in (3 PM), we headed to the beach area, only to find all loungers “reserved” with towels but not a single person present. In the following days, we realized guests wake up early just to claim sunbeds, then leave for hours. Signs say towels will be removed after 30 mins, but staff didn’t enforce it. When we asked, they simply advised us to “do the same.”
Locals and non-guests climb over the fence from the walking path and use both the pool and beach loungers. When we told the front desk, they laughed and said “it’s like that every year.”
Breakfast was okay, but overcrowded and felt more like an all-inclusive buffet. The spa was worn, and swimwear is not allowed, which felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming as a woman.
We checked out a day early. The hotel felt massive, impersonal, and far from the 5-star service we expected. I won’t return — but if you’re looking for a free beach day, apparently all you need to do is jump the fence.
