This property is a nightmare. The a/c is centrally controlled by staff and they refused to lower it, they would say they would and nothing would happen, I have a medical condition that requires my body to stay cool and when we told the staff that the ac needs to be set lower because of it, they told me they’d rather we leave because “we don’t want someone with a medical condition staying here.” Was there response. When we asked for a manager we were denied and told to come back in the am, at the time we were told to return they denied us access to the manager again and gave nothing but attitude. We reported this hotel to the Italian medical board also to the ECC and local magistrates. This place is a scam that will take your money and offer nothing In return. The bathroom sink was broken, the ac non existent, cheers to being told this is how Europe is, just because my wife and I prefer English doesn’t mean we don’t understand the language and the disrespect of talking trash in a different language, I am 2 generation immigrant and my family has deep roots in Italy this is not typical in Europe as they said, this was a terrible experience with a terrible staff and even poorer management

Sad we were never able to use our stay

We were caught in the Italian train strikes and never made it. Unfortunately our reservation was unchangable/non refundable and we were never able to use it. This was not due to any circumstance we could control and we still lost out.

Nice room. Cute little balcony (albeit not much of a view). Lovely helpful staff. Included breakfast was ok. Nice and quiet (even the stairs were carpeted). Handy location to the trains and the canal. Little porters meet you at the station and before you know it or even ask what is going on they have put your bags onto their trolleys and they are off!! Pretty good service though - although 25 Euro is a bit steep for a 5 minute walk

A great, affoesable Venice stay

Although the hotel is just a 2 star rating, i have stayed in way worse hotels over the years rated much higher. Villa Rosa is located down a small alleyway and offer great value for money. Our room was not big, but it was clearly modernized with a great shower and solid bedroom. With a location close to the train station it is extremely convenient in terms of getting to and from, and Venice being a confusing and overwhelming city, this is an amazing feature. Staff were extremely kind, helpful and attentive during out stay, going out of the way to help when there was a booking issue beforehand. Only downsides are small, we couls have uses a fridge and trashcan in the room (there is a small trashcan in the bathroom, but it was quickly filled with water bottles and similar items), and while the breakfast is lovely to be included, it left a little to be desired from my personal tastes, but it was decent enough.

Proximate to Train Station but Not Much Else

Hotel Villa Rosa is conveniently located by the train station and offers easy access to water taxi services. It is located on a very quiet street—a rarity in Venice—but is very near to major thoroughfares for food and shops (which primarily cater to tourists). However, most major attractions do require a 30+ minute walk, which must be taken through crowded streets that are overrun by tourists. The staff was courteous but did not go out of their way to make us feel welcome or offer recommendations, as was the case for our other hotels. The bed was quite firm. The included breakfast was good. While we would probably stay again, we might be inclined to stay in a more central location now that we know how easy it is to travel by water taxi throughout the city.
