A nice hotel, but we were allocated a room on the lowest level with a view of a construction site. The rooftop bar and restaurant are nicely positioned and good music at night. Food was t that great and the cocktails had minimal alcohol. A good hotel for one night in Kandy

Lovely hotel set in the hills above the lake, with great views of the surrounding peaks, very comfortable room with a great balcony. There's a rooftop bar and restaurant which was lovely, plus a ground floor bar, restaurant and infinity pool. Breakfast was delicious with great choices and good coffee! The staff were attentive and pleasant.

Overall the stay was pretty good and the staff were good and helpful. The only concern is it would be great to have a separate glass cover in the shower area. Otherwise when taking a shower water splash all over the washroom.

This property is a must stay! We felt welcomed, our room was excellent and as Americans… the accommodations were comfortable including the bed. The panoramic view is beautiful and near cultural and historic sites. I would have stayed here atleast another night had I known what I was in for.

Loved our stay here for 2 nights. The staff made sure gluten free options were prepared ready for us when we arrived at breakfast each morning. There was a strange noise at night and the manager moved our room immediately. Beautiful hotel

Good place to stay in Kandy but slightly on the expensive side for what it is. One thing to be aware of is that there is a construction site next to the hotel as of April 2025. Of course this isn’t something the hotel can control, but the noise in the daytime is a disturbance. The rooms are great and clean, but sound insulation is not great from the hallway, lobby, etc. Breakfast selection is also great. The pool has a great view but it’s location right next to the restaurant makes it slightly awkward to use.

This was a stopover in Kandy for 1 night. Property is really nice with an infinity pool and amazing views. The rooms were large but do need an update as they look a little tired. Perhaps a quick paint will change them completely. Bathroom was very nice Staff were really nice Food was average but we are comparing this hotel to our amazing hotel in Sigiriya

Beautiful modern hotel with great views overlooking Kandy. Large spacious room with comfortable bed, walk in shower and balcony overlooking the city. The hotel also has a lovely rooftop bar and all the staff were very friendly and provided a high level of service. The walk may be a little far to the city centre for some people but I enjoyed the walk especially around the lake. Transport easily available as an alternative. Thank you for an excellent stay I would highly recommend this hotel.

Fabulous views but noisy

Hotel views were lovely, very quirky little pool where we took stunning pictures. Room was nice and clean, very simple with a large balcony, lots of privacy. Breakfast had a small selection of food from different places. Reception staff were a bit funny, didn’t say hello or goodbye, they make you feel quite awkward when you arrive. Not the biggest issue but this is quite strange as everyone else from restaurant to housekeepers to porter were all so lovely and friendly! Unfortunately really struggled with the noise surrounding the hotel (hotel itself was quiet) the balcony doors are two panes of sliding glass and they’re not fully sound proof so you can hear the kids at school singing at around 7:30/8am. Traffic and noise from the streets can also be heard due to this design.

Built like so much of Kandy on the side of a mountain, Grand Serendib Hotel offers a standard room with a great view. The room works well in terms of comfort with a pretty little balcony. We had an excellent buffet breakfast included. The staff were very friendly and polite.

We really enjoyed our stay here. From arriving, the staff on the front desk and in restaurants were on hand to help every step of the way. Room was really spacious and we loved the balcony overlooking Kandy lake. Pool was small, but good to dip into! Although it was quite chilly. Really great location too. Only thing I would say is housekeeping was quite late in the day!
