Very eclectic place, but were welcoming and friendly. We were in Tarascon for a wedding, and found this place just 5 minutes from the wedding venue.
Our room had accees to a long shared balkony that had beeen divided into individual sections with lots of greenery. It was facing the street, but it is quiet at night, and during the day, I enjoy a bit of life around me.
This part of town does seem to be predominantly muslim, with a lot of people congrgating at the local coffee shops throughout the weekend.
Overall, the premises are a bit run down, but very charming nonetheless. THe people working there (from receptionist to cleaners) were very approachable, helpful, and accommodating. They do not seem to get a lot of foreign guests, but tried very hard to communicate as best they could, and we got to the goal every single time.
If I found myself in that area again, I would not hesitate to stay at Hotel des Artistes!
