Friendly staff, nice but small pool on roof terrace. Rooms and bed was OK, though our friends found lots of small ants in their room (probably due to a spillage in the waste basket). The staff handled this promtly, and the problem didn't occure for the rest of the stay. We were two couples and stayed for two nights. Food was OK, but nothing more. Breakfast was lovely and included in the price. We enjoyed our stay here.

The hotel is a very good base to explore the Alto Douro region. Is close to Lamego, Régua and to other wineries. The food is very good and the staff is very attentive and helpful. We stay for 2 nights and it was quite enjoyable.

We loved every minute of our stay at the Quinta do Casaldronho! The attention to detail from every member of the team makes this a special place to visit. Warm welcome, super rooms with comfy bed and good shower, wonderful pool, excellent food and of course Casaldronho wine all with 365 views of extraordinary countryside. We will be back!

The hotel was in a remote area but had beautiful views and was worth the effort. The swimming pool was a welcome addition as it was very hot when we arrived. The dinner and breakfast were good. There seemed to be a problem with the doors to the rooms which people kept banging to get them to close. Added to that someone managed to open our door when we were almost asleep and the hotel dog ran into our room. Very disconcerting and not condusive to a good nights sleep.

Highly recommended for a quiet retreat

Amazing property in the midst of the vineyard. Better to have a car to get around in Douro Valley. Restaurant dinners were great, more upscale Portguese style. Housekeeping was top notch. Look out for the moody cat at the bar and you will fall in love with the over zealous guest relations furries on the compound.

Promises a lot, but doesn't deliver

The majority of staff were friendly, courteous and happy, which makes a real difference to the stay. The room, including bathroom were small, but clean. One of the reasons we booked this hotel, was the description on the hotel's website 'of privileged views of the Douro River and valley'. There is no view of the Douro River and the view of the valley is completely spoilt by the numerous electricity pylons and high voltage cables. The hotel is surrounded by them! The swimming pool, while nice, is really a large plunge pool. Access to the hotel is not great, as it is single track, requiring someone to reverse and find a place where you can pass if meeting another vehicle. We had two evening meals in the restaurant which we really enjoyed. Breakfasts were also good. It is not a bad hotel, but should be more honest about its surroundings and facilities, so guests are not disappointed.

Propriedade com pouca atenção ao detalhe. 1) Mal chegamos notamos falta de cuidado nas áreas comuns, relva por cortar entre outros 2) ficamos sem agua quenta (deve ser normal acontecer) 3) meias de outro hospede debaixo da nossa cama 4) bichos no quarto 5) Berço da criança com enerme uso. Tem de ir para o lixo 6) restaurante e pequeno ao almoço limitado. Quer vinho branco ? Não pense que pode escolher o vinho so ha 1
