We do not ever post a negative review, but….
…this was actually a big mistake and we did not even stay at the resort after paying and checking the place out.
1. The Safari Tent @ $230 a night is a joke. We are used to all kinds of accommodations traveling the world, and this should be 50 bucks at the most…even then I’m not sure if we would stay. We were lucky enough to find a great, well-appointed room at the nearby West Coast Wilderness Lodge in Egmont @ 229.50……while looking for a place to eat. And we also tent at the BC backcountry campgrounds, where BC Parks have great, environmentally friendly outhouses…a plastic port-a-potty???
2. The restaurant the at the resort is closed on Wednesday
3. Even the way you suppose to park is…a questionable requirement. While there is a large, safe spot right by the tent, you have to drive trough a backroad to a very small, unsafe spot and descent with your stuff by a narrow, steep trail and stairs
4. The resort has plenty of rental equipment….except not enough safety vests due to the sanitation practices. The lovely receptionist, who was very polite and professional, suggested we should go somewhere to buy some and then they would rent us the equipment. (With all the due respect, we received an email that there might be a shortage of vests…but if you want to rent your equipment, shouldn’t you prepare for it ???)
It was our last moment decision to stay a day longer at the Sunshine Coast and I'm glad we did not have to finish it like this
