2/10 Poor

The room was infested with roaches. I didn’t get any rest thinking about bugs in our clothes or the bed. The bathroom was mediocre at best. The whole room needed updating. Peeling paint and the carpet felt sticky. The location was ok. Lot of places nearby.

I’m from Hartsville. I always loved this place when my Mom would drive past it. It’s old. It needs to be remodeled. The rooms are not bad but just old.

Turkey Hunting Trip

This hotel isn't a great stay, but it served its purpose for a couple guys on a hunting trip. I would stay again for a similar purpose.

The room the they checked me in had roaches all over the place! I asked them to discount my room and move me to another room and they said no, they will move me but not going to discount the room! It was very late and other hotels were sold out in the area

Decent/Simple Hotel

This hotel was “the place to stay” when the Landmark was built approximately 40 years ago. The hotel has “good bones” but is in need of some simple repairs, upkeep and updating. We booked this room for our parents (kind of last minute and they didn’t want something “fancy”) but we all feel the hotel could use some basic work to be a great place again. Our parents did compliment how comfortable the bed was, the room itself was simple and clean. The staff was decent towards the clientele but they need to come up with a “better system” for checking out. Upon checking out, the one staff member working the front has to go “check” your room to ensure you can receive your $50 deposit back. This process adds 20ish minutes to a process that should only take a 3-5 minutes. Let the client check out, you have their card info on file and if you find a problem then don’t give the deposit back. If there’s an issue (damage, missing items, smoking in non-smoking rooms) then don’t refund it. If the room is clean, no issues, then release the deposit back to the client by the end of the day so it will be back on their card by the following morning. Overall; decent hotel, needs updating and repairs, decent staff and within minutes of historic downtown Hartsville.

Terrible place to stay

The rooms were nasty. I have photos of what looks like pee on the walls that wasn’t cleaned and all the door casing were grimy. The room was outdated and did not look like the rooms in the photos. The fridge and microwave barely worked and the AC in one of the rooms didn’t get cool. We had 2 rooms joined and one was a little nicer looking but the toilet seat was broken and the bathtub and sinks had burn marks and were gross. I will not stay here again. It was way overpriced for what we got and we had to many kids with us to change rooms and wait for a refund. Plus it was only 3 nights and the stress of changing hotels after we got into town wasn’t worth it. The continental breakfast was less than satisfactory. Had to wait for more coffee and waffle mix at 8am. Breakfast was between 7-9, which isn’t a long window and they couldn’t keep items stocked. It wasn’t busy, and the breakfast area didn’t have many people. All the mattress pad covers were torn underneath and the corners torn as well so it didn’t fit the bed well. The beds were comfortable but I definitely had to check for bedbugs before bringing our stuff in. It was a rip off and the only reason prices were so high for such a terrible place is because it was race weekend and Labor Day. The lamps were missing light bulbs. The housekeeping staff were really nice and the front desk staff were nice except for the owner. He tried to 2 pet fees for one pet because we had 2 rooms. Wash cloth had yellow stains.

This property was terrible! Run down, dirty, staff was horrible and rude pool was open but told it closed at sun down which was 830 in June and it was only 6pm. . DO NOT STAY

2/10 Poor

The room was roach infested . The manager would not give me a refund but place me in another room where the door jammed and I had to be moved to a 3 room. All this for a 2 night stay. Never again.

2/10 Poor

Not as pictured online.

Very moldy/musty - only got worse when turning on the A/C. A lot of differed maintenance. Damaged furniture, generally dirty, none of the lamps worked (unsure why), the smoke alarm was not there - just wires sticking out of the wall, and there was an uncapped electric box in a corner with exposed wires that was partially concealed by the fabric drapes. Also felt a little unsafe. We took a few photos in case we needed them to dispute the charges and moved over to the Fairfield Inn about a mile away. I was told the manager, CJ, would call me to reverse the charges in the AM. I am hopeful he will. The staff onsite were very nice.

One night stay

Needed thicker blankets or comforter. Rather chilly night. Had to run the noisy heater heater all night. Approximately a one inch gap at the bottom of the entry door allowing a cold draft to enter the room. Slept late , didn’t eat the breakfast. Overall, hotel not too bad for the price. You get what you pay for
1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Well for close to 90 bucks these days can’t expect much when staying at a hotel, however, 90 bucks is a good bit of money and all I needed was some space to get some work done was a no distractions and I could not even get any work done from constantly killing cockroaches. They were coming out of the walls, the sockets everything it was just never anything I’ve ever seen before not to mention, extreme dirtiness of the Rome granite. It looks neat everything when I walked in the door until I took a closer look and saw the absolute disgust everywhere . I was probably there for an hour and a half maybe two, 30 minutes of that time was cleaning their mess! As I left, I turned my key card into the front desk and informed the lady that I couldn’t stay there because of the cockroaches and the filthy room, the lady just took the key card and said OK thank you have a good night. really? That’s it? No would you like a refund or would you like to stay in a cleaner room? She completely disregarded my complaints and sent me on my merry way now. Out 90 bucks and got absolutely none of the work done that I needed to get done so let’s just say the landmark Inn in Hartsville South Carolina is not recommended by me at all !!!
Brandy, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

It was nasty, stainds every where, never said there was a 50$ deposit even with card, still haven't gotten it back after a week, ice machine broke, gun shots heard thru the night, breakfast had bugs in it, room smelled like Indian food, no smoking in room but furnace smokes, caught tetanus from shower, hookers in parking lot, guy fell thru ceiling from 2nd floor, all furniture and linens had bedbugs and/or crabs, no doorknob on bathroom door, pool closed full of dead animals, police caution tape barricaded door 2 room's down, no toilet paper only brown napkins, room trash can full, used syringes in mini fridge, pillows stuff with hay and straw, no shower curtain or toilet seat, cracked mirror, HELP ME carved into bed headboard, iron electrical cord cut off, one 300w light fixture no lamp shade,
Kristeoffer, 1-night trip

Very eh stay

The lobby had tons of potential but was un heated with stuff laying around. The room was clean but 1/2 the lamps didn’t work and weren’t even plugged in. The light over the sink didn’t work either. Blankets were thin. They required a deposit that they planned to reverse - but had to look through the room to reverse it? Who does that these days? However the bed was comfortable, as were the pillows and it was quite clean. The price was very reasonable however. I don’t know that I would stay again, but I slept well.
