10/10 Exceptional

Basic Affordable and Welcoming.

Booked here for a trip to Nottingham (as prices in the City itself were prohibitive). Located by rail and tram stops, the Hotel was ideal for my purpose, and an affordable price. Welcoming and frienly staff. Excellent pub food with a great range of local ales on offer. Basic room and facilities suitable for my visit and fairly reflected in the price. I found the bed a little uncomfortable but thats probably just down to personal preferences, so all-in-all an excellent base for my stay.

2/10 Poor

Cheap but would be better off in hostel.

Hotel definitely needs refurbishment. Communal areas look like a squat! Staff were lovely and did all that they could.

Great stay at the station

The station hotel bar areas where really nice up to date, clean and nice decor, outside area, near for when the weather is good, also do food, staff are really welcoming, polite and genuine, rooms are are large, tv w/c, could do with an update in decor id say, maybe en-suits in all rooms. But good rooms to stay over whilst working away and such. Found the kingsize bed very comfy, i would definitely stay again, good prices to.

Stayed in room 3! Radiator did not work. Was freezing all night! Even with the small plug in radiator hardly gave off heat!. the coffee machine spat out crap & not coffee. Also the double bed is broken left hand side by headboard & leg under bed is off!

Very big room however it was on the top floor and no lift

Above and beyond

I misread the check in time but one of the female staff stayed behind for ten minutes or so which was incredibly kind of her. I gave the money for a cab obviously and appreciated her letting me in. The room was massive, bed comfy enough. I wish I had been there earlier to enjoy the pub.

Friendly locals and staff. Large room fresh neutral colours. Larger rooms are Very good much better appearance. En-suite immaculate. Lovely village surroundings. Very accessible to roads and transport. I felt very safe. Far better than corporate franchises. More friendly and personal touch. Local amenities very close. Intend to return in October 2023.
Dionne, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Good for me but not posh

This is a pub with an incredible range of cask beers (10) mostly from the Lincoln Green Brewery. The 3 I try ed were excellent. The hotel (pub) has a faded grandeur feel and is basic. This suits me down to the ground. They do not do breakfast so we went to Tesco opposite which has a good cafe. The ensuite room was clean and tidy and met our needs well. It is up two flights of stairs though, no lift, and is a rabbit warren. Parking is on street. Overall I liked it but posh it is not.
Neil, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

The basic double room was just that basic but it had a good bed yet with terrible pillows and duvet. The television was ok, yet there was no wifi. The bathroom is disgusting.

Poor

Made to fill forms in on check in and they wrote down my driving licence number. Apparently Hotels.com don't provide them with enough details all rooms are on the top floor and its the only hotel I ever stayed where you have to check out for 9 o clock

Thick Dust on top of wardrobes. Room could do with a re decorate. Very noisey at night when there is a function on which is directly below the room's

2/10 Poor

The Bar was dirty with spilt beer,Tables dirty I had to ask staff to wipe them both & they didnt wipe the whole table just the bit in front of us.There wasnt many other people in. The carpet was Black on the stairs to our room The accomodation was terrible, really cold, extension leads all over the place.Needed a whole revamp throughout, Honestly dont stay, unless you are really really desperate. Dont be drawn by the 4.3 rating or the pictures
1-night trip

4/10 Fair

Property could do with new carpets for starters very worn and just follow the dirt/grease trail to your room. Banisters were not to be touched except in an emergency. Door stiff on the room .. old furniture . . Very small Tv.. room cold as central heating was not on but it had an oil electric radiator which managed just to take the chill off. Bathroom was cold as wind coming in through window which was stuck .. Good thing was a good bed👍 but although pillows looked clean they smelt of old body odour 😞😞.. Tesco is across the road so get some new pillows please .. worth the money no .. should only be £45.00 max . Avoid unless you are desperate.
