When we arrived at Wallaroo Holiday Park they had no record of our booking, despite us having received a confirmation email from LastMinute. Luckily, there had been a cancellation in a similar cabin so we were able to check in. If not for this, we would have been stranded without accomodation.
The room was a good size and well laid-out with a huge bathroom and nice kitchen. Unless you had brought all your pots, pans, bowls and cooking supplies from home, however, you couldn’t really make use of the cooking facilities as there was only 1 small pot big enough to boil an egg or two and not much else. The view from the cabins is wonderful. The windows, however, were so caked with sand that we had to wash them ourselves before we could see out of them. Our king bed was nice but had sand between the sheets. Once we had sorted out these issues, our stay was comfortable enough. The park has wifi but it could not be accessed from our cabin - we had to walk back to the kiosk and sit outside it if we wanted to use this service.
Overall there were some positives to our stay. The location right on the beach was wonderful, as was the proximity to the new Wallaroo Kitchen cafe on North Beach (definitely worth a visit). Given the price point for our 3-night stay, and the issues we encountered, I do not think we would choose to stay here again though.
