Beautiful hotel with a friendly and professional staff. The atrium housed a comfortable bar area on one side, with the restaurant on the other side. My travelmate gave the spa high marks. It's located within walking distance of most of the Siracusa points of interest.

Amazing amazing hotel! Silvia was SO friendly and helpful at check in and walked us to our beautiful room. Everyone we met was so nice and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and we loved everything about this hotel! Only recommendation is to have mirrors and small towels available in the gym :)

Anna checked in with me before we arrived. She upgraded our room and provided us with tips on how to get around the neighborhood. Had a great dinner at the rooftop restaurant. Food, atmosphere and service was top notch. Concetta gave us a great check out experience. This hotel is very modern and updated. It’s very close to the old town for eating drinking and shopping.

The hotel is superbly comfortable and the staff have been attentive yo the needs of guests. The building is unique and has preserved it’s original features without compromising comfort. Breakfast staff members have been both very kind to me and to my little dog (thank you, Frderica). Talking about my dog, he loved the room and the bed. I cannot wait to return.

Location: Excellent, on Ortigia island but close to mainland. Near open air market & many good restaurants. Facilities: Common areas are superb & luxurious. Room is OK, not great. Bathroom too small, especially shower, which also leaks after each use. Service: At breakfast, service is excellent. Housekeeping is OK, sometimes good, sometimes a bit off. Food: Judging from breakfast, restaurant probably very good. In conclusion: If the bathroom was larger and better, it would truly be a 5-star experience, otherwise I feel it's only 4-star.

It's a very cool hotel that used to be a post office, so there is an interesting mix of old and new building design. Overall, the room we stayed in was very elegant with high ceilings, velvet curtains and chairs, and antique furniture, with modern technology and bathrooms. The location is great -- just over the bridge which makes it easy to get on and off Ortigia -- and within easy walking distance of all the things to do and see on the island. The only downside is parking which is near impossible to find on your own, so we paid the 40 Euros a day to valet park. Also, the front desk is sorely understaffed, which meant we were always waiting for help. A hotel like this should not have one person working the front desk during check out!

A Unique and Exquisitely Elegant Hotel

This is an exquisite property beautifully refurbished in every detail. The staff make you feel welcome the minute you arrive until the day you leave, the entire time like totality. A few practical recommendations to help enhance the experience would be to provide a rubber bath mat in the shower. The marble floor with soapy water is extremely slippery and dangerous. A trash can is needed under the sink in the bedroom. The bedroom is dominated by the bathtub, a chair is needed here too. An iron and ironing board in the closet would be a nice addition to help travelers immediately fix their wrinkled clothes. Nearly all Marriotts provide them.

This review could have been so different if the hotel had expressed any sort of acknowledgement to our situation. On our first night, there was a leak in the upstairs bedroom ceiling. When going to bed around 11 pm, I slipped and fell on the water puddle, thankfully I did not get hurt. The hotel immediately sent two workers to investigate. Apparently there was a leak in the ceiling which the hotel knew about as they had placed a small container above the ceiling to catch water from a dripping pipe. Unfortunately the container was not in the correct place and the water dripped from the ceiling onto the bedroom floor, creating a large puddle. The hotel offered us two other rooms to choose from. We repacked our clothes then moved to the new room, it was the same type room, just a little smaller. After this the hotel made no effort to say that they were sorry for the inconvenience, not even a note from the manager. There was a note the next day , but it was a welcome note to another guest. After our three night stay at checkout, I mentioned the flood to the front desk and said it would be nice if the hotel comped us for our incidental charges ( totaling 95 euros) due to the inconvenience of having to change rooms at midnight. The desk person checked with the manager and the response was "not possible" as we had prepaid the room and the hotel bar was part of a different system. Definitely not a five star luxury experience.

There were ants in our first floor bathroom. They sent someone to clean and take care of them. They essentially just left them on the ground dead. Hotel was nice. No complimentary bikes to use per website. Pool can only be used with kids 2 hrs per day allotted time.
