We had a lovely stay at this hotel and would recommend it as a great base for exploring Rome. A particular thank you to Peter who looked after us at breakfast. He cooked amazing food and was extremely polite, chatty and helpful. The balcony for breakfast is a real treat.

Palazzo Caruso was a very chic, boutique hotel in central Rome. It was 5 minutes to Piazza Spagna and many other historical sites. Because it was my birthday they upgraded us to a suite for free. Lovely place feeling homey, elegant, comfortable. Thank you!

Great hotel

Great location -- convenient for walking to different areas and also very convenient to the metro. Spacious room. Overall a great stay despite a few very minor details. Would definitely stay here again.

Good hotel to stay at

We enjoyed how central this hotel was and the staff was very friendly. There was a light in the room that we couldn't figure out how to turn off and the shower door leaked water on the floor when used. Big spacious rooms and very quite so would stay here again.

Excellent location! Quaint boutique hotel. Intermittent Wifi issues, AC cool, but not cold.

From the moment we entered the Palazzo, we had such a personal experience with the staff and the accommodations. Notably, John and Luisa went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, and made us feel safe in a city we were unfamiliar with and weren’t sure of how to navigate. Top notch stellar service and hospitality. The Palazzo was in a central location, with metro, subway, taxi right outside the door as well as restaurants, bars, shopping, easily accessible in a short walking distance. The Palazzo lobby was pristine and the room was immaculate. Would ABSOLUTELY recommend to a friend, and would stay again if would stay again when in Rome. received STELLAR service and hospitality. Overall very good, but safe not simple to use, and poor wifi quality. Super clean, and large room designed with care. Ultra clean.

6/10 Good

The property is well-located and the rooms are spacious. The WiFi is scattered and poorly set up. The staff (particularly the manager) do not have a good grasp of hospitality principles and sometimes they are plainly rude. The beds are not extremely comfortable.

10/10 Exceptional

For our one-week stay in Rome, we booked a suite for our family of four that included two bedrooms and a spacious common living area with view of the relatively quiet Piazza Barberini. The central location made it easy to tour the Colosseum, stop back at the hotel to freshen up, and then move onto the next activity. Because of its size, the hotel almost has the feel of a bed and breakfast. A special shout out goes to Pietro, the gentleman in charge of breakfast in the morning and happy hour in the evening. He is an absolute gem, super warm and welcoming, and his fresh baked goods are delicious. When he heard we are vegetarian, he had a freshly baked vegetarian quiche for us the next morning.
Luke, 5-night trip

Sometimes the key card will be broken. But the manager can help us to get into the room we booked.
4-night trip

6/10 Good

I felt the rooms lacked practical necessities like somewhere to hang up your clothes or unpack your suitcase. Beverages in the mini bar consisted of water and coke a cola. No waste paper basket, clock, or telephone, in the bedroom. Television streaming kept freezing. The paint in the room was scuffed and dirty, ants invaded the bathroom and giant slippy tiles on the bathroom floor were a hazard. No bar service on the rooftop patio according to the woman who checked me in.
Lisa, 1-night trip

This 12 room boutique hotel is a hidden gem in Rome. It’s very conveniently located in a safe town square called Palazzo Barberini in downtown Rome. The door to the hotel itself is a bit difficult to find when you first arrive - it’s a glass door locked to those without a keycard. Ring the bell and you will be greeted warmly by one of the EXTREMELY Helpful staff on duty. Hotel is less than a block from a Metro stop and if you’re a tourist just across the street you can find the popular Hop On, Hop Off double decker tourist buses - which is a GREAT way to see the main attractions- or to just get a feel for the city. You can stay on the bus for the full hour & half or get off at the big sites & get back on again when finished. Barberini square (palazzo) is stop #4 on the Green bus line. Walking distance to Spanish Steps & Trevi Fountain and other sites. Upon arrival the attendant on duty realized we were tourists and she highlighted the route to the places we wanted to see. At 11PM the night before we left we realized we needed a cab to airport and the attendant on duty was very helpful in scheduling transportation despite the late hour. 60 Euro flat fee to airport as of 2024. I booked the hotel for a few days mid-week and upon arrival was pleasantly surprised to find my wife & I were upgraded to a beautiful suite with large living room, bedroom & bathroom. The room was nice and clean with hand painted designs on the beam ceilings & beautiful unique furniture also.

4/10 Fair

It is a small property, as expected in the city. It was definitely cute. We had issues with the management from the moment we got there. They were supposed to help with arranging a rental car; that didn’t happen. We had 2 rooms between 4 people and 1 of the rooms was having AC issues. When brought this to managements attention, they said the entire building was because it all runs on the same in these city buildings. After speaking with our friends in the other room, their room was freezing; as was the entire rest of the hotel - this continued for both of our nights there - they said they’d call maintenance (and never did) and said they’d move our room (and never did). The morning before our departure from Rome, we asked management to arrange a car for us to take us to the airport (they have a sign on checkin desk stating they do this). She confirmed our 6:15am pick up, and come 6:30am the day of, the kind gentleman in management said that their was an issue and ended up getting us a taxi. The hotel is in a great location, but honestly that is about it.
Megan, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Ok place with several issues.

Large. Great bed. Paper thin walls . Neighbor with Covid coughed all night. Cleaners left windows open. We have allergies to bug bites and keep the windows closed. Light switches don't work properly. Tv remote missing in second room. Tv no channels leaving only Netflix. We told the concierge 3x that we could not control room temperature.it was too cold. He played with the setting and SAIT was 25 yet the thermostat read 21. Never resolved in 4 days. We had to manually turn a/c off and on. Shower way too small and can't get in without soaking bathroom floor making it slippery and dangerous. I found a patron opening front door entrance with a key placed under street mat. Have to turn on a/c everytime front door is opened. No usb plugs. No tea.
